Photo from yogesh bhai's guru purnima 🤍

Yogi Bhai's disciples performed a memorable puja for their Guru with their amazing playing, and every year the grandeur of this celebration is becoming more and more divine.

In the end, Yogi Bhai concluded the sacred festival with his solo performance. While taking his playing to its peak, Yogi Bhai was humbly saying in sequence, "The children have played such amazing tabla, what should I play now?"

And slowly, with every matra, Yogi Bhai's playing began to take the form of the Guru himself. A boundless enthusiasm and new sprouts of taleem began to blossom in the disciples, and the students and listeners began to feel a new form of the tabla.

Isn't it amazing? The tabla is an instrument of sound, but thoughts deeper than the ocean begin to reside in it through the taleem of the Gurus. This is exactly what Yogi Bhai, my Guruji, tried to convey through his tabla playing. And why not - the taleem of his parents, Pandit Taranath ji, Abbaji, and Zakir Bhai, which was resonating as a nagma with Yogi Bhai.

Teaching tabla sadhaks, pakhawaj sadhaks, disciples from India and abroad, carrying forward the tradition of the Punjab Gharana - countless such responsibilities... and along with his own tabla and music sadhana, most importantly, keeping one's temperament melodious, soft, and humble - is not an easy task.

Yogi Bhai, I offer my respectful salutations to you. Even today, the conversations from the time of taleem with Abbaji are fresh in my ears, and the visuals are fresh in my eyes, and will always remain so.🙏🏻🙏🏻🌺🌺🚩
