β€œGet behind the ball” a term thrown out to hitters very loosely. Most hitter don’t understand that they have to force themselves to maintain their tilt.

If you feel you’re pulling off or topping balls try getting to launch and track the ball all the way in.

Smell it! lol. Keep working hitters it’s a long journey! #hitting365 #unleashyourpotential #miamibaseball #baseballtraining by @hitting365

You won't believe this β€” we don't have a hitting philosophy. Here's why.

Every hitting facility has a philosophy.

Swing down. Swing up. Stay short. Load early. Hit through the ball.

And they apply it to every athlete. Every age. Every skill level. The same mold. The same cues. The same drills.

We don't do that.

Not because we don't have principles β€” we do. But because no two athletes are the same size, the same age, the same stage of development, or the same skill level.

Forcing every hitter into one philosophy doesn't build better hitters. It builds hitters who look like your philosophy β€” whether it fits them or not.

At Hitting-365, we work with what we have.

We assess your athlete. We identify their strengths and their weaknesses. We build a plan around who they actually are β€” not who we think they should be.

And we adjust that plan as they grow, as their body changes, as their game develops.

That's not a philosophy. That's a process.

And process produces athletes who understand their own swing β€” not athletes who are dependent on a coach to tell them what to do every rep.

You're already spending money on development. Spend it somewhere that builds your athlete β€” not a copy of someone else's ideal hitter.

I shouldn't be saying this β€” but your coach's timeline is a lie.

If a coach has ever told you your child will be significantly better in 6 weeks, 3 months, or by the start of next season β€” Run!

They're telling you what you want to hear. Not what you need to hear.

Here's the truth:
There is no way to predict how long it takes a player to learn movement patterns and take them into games under pressure. None. Not for any coach. Not at any level.

The swing is an ongoing process. Bodies change. Coordination develops differently in every athlete. Some make big leaps fast. Others take longer. Both are completely normal.

What's NOT normal is a coach selling you a guaranteed timeline to justify your investment.

That's not a development plan. That's a sales pitch designed to get you to sign up.

Here's what an honest coach tells you instead:
"I can't tell you when. But I can show you that it's happening β€” week by week, through data, through film, through measurable improvement."

That's the difference between false hope and real transparency.

Results aren't always instant. Development doesn't care about your schedule. But if you're tracking the right things β€” you'll always know you're moving in the right direction.

I'll regret saying this β€” but most lessons are just glorified BP.

There. I said it.

If your child's coach doesn't have film of their recent sessions, what are they coaching from? Memory? Gut feeling? The sound of contact?

If there's no structured routine for that individual hitter every time they walk in, what exactly is being built session to session?

If they're not competing in the cages, how is any of what they're practicing supposed to show up in games?

Because here's the difference between a lesson and real development:

A lesson tells your athlete what to do. Real development teaches them to figure it out themselves.

Learning isn't being told what to do. Learning is taking the information, making it your own, and becoming accountable for it β€” rep after rep, session after session, game after game.

If your athlete needs a coach or a parent to tell them what they did wrong after every swing, they're not learning. They're following instructions.

And instructions don't travel with you to the plate on Saturday.

Process does. Structure does. Accountability does.

If your current program can't show you any of those things β€” you're paying for batting practice with a stranger.

The best hitters aren't chasing personal records every session. They're chasing consistency.

Here's when development gets serious at Hitting-365, and what we're actually watching for:

It's not about whether they can hit their max exit velocity once on a good day.

It's about whether they can sit consistently within a range close to that max, rep after rep, session after session.

If your max is 85mph, can you sit between 77 and 83 during your cage work? Consistently? That's the standard.

But here's what matters even more than that:

Can they walk in and run their own progressions without being told?

Can they remember the drills from last session and go through their routine independently?

Because THAT β€” more than any metric we track β€” tells us something real about where an athlete is in their development.
 It's called accountability.

And it goes beyond the facility β€” are they doing the work outside? Can they communicate pitch sequences, situations, what they worked on, and how it went?

Because if a player isn't engaged β€” genuinely, mentally engaged- there's no teaching happening. And if there's no teaching, there's no learning.

Talent without engagement doesn't develop. It just waits.

Save this if you want your athlete to take ownership of their own development.

I almost pulled my daughter out of her program because she looked too slow.

Every other girl in that cage looked sharp. Quick. Explosive.

My daughter was going through her pre-swing like she had all the time in the world.

Slow, deliberate. Feeling her feet. Testing her timing.

I leaned over to another parent and said β€” "Does that look right to you?"

Before they could answer, the coach pitched.
She hit it clean. Hard. Perfect contact.

I didn't say anything. But the coach must have seen my face because after the session he pulled me aside.

He said: "I know what you were thinking. But what you were watching wasn't slowness. That was preparation. She was finding her timing before the pitch ever left my hand."

He explained that the hitters who look the most explosive in the box aren't the ones who react fastest β€” they're the ones who prepared best before the pitch came.

Footing. Timing. Mental readiness. All of that gets built in the moments before contact.

"The swing you saw? That was the result of everything she did before I threw the ball."

I watched the rest of that session completely differently after that.

She wasn't slow. She was deliberate. And deliberate was exactly what her coach had been building in her all along.

At Hitting-365, we don't just train swings. We train preparation. Because what happens before the pitch is just as important as what happens after it.

Most parents are wrong about what practice is actually for.

My daughter came home after a tough session and said her coach never lets her win.

I laughed. I thought she was exaggerating.

Then I watched a session.

He was right. He didn't let her win.

Every rep was competitive. Every drill was designed to challenge her past what felt comfortable. She struggled. She got frustrated. She had to fight for every good swing.

Afterward, I asked him about it.
He pulled up her weekend numbers. Two for four. A double. Two walks. Two strikeouts.

Then he said: "Did I take it easy on her in practice? Or did I always make it tough?"
She said: "Always tough."

He smiled. "So if you can compete with me in here β€” what do you think happens on the field against girls who practiced easy?"

That landed differently than I expected.

Because I'd always thought practice was supposed to build confidence. Keep things positive. Make her feel good about her game.

But her coach reframed it completely:

"Practice isn't an ego boost. It's a working environment. The game is hard. You can't practice easy if the game is hard. We make practice harder than the game β€” so the game feels easy."

Two for four with a double isn't luck. That's what hard practice produces.

At Hitting-365, we make practice hard on purpose because that's what prepares athletes for what's coming.

3 red flags that your hitting coach is wasting your money. Save this. 🚩🚩🚩

Most parents don't know what good coaching looks like β€” so they don't know when they're not getting it.

Here's exactly what to watch for:

🚩 Red Flag #1: No Video. If your coach isn't filming swings and breaking them down β€” they're guessing. The swing happens in a fraction of a second. You cannot coach what you cannot see. Bad habits form in real time. Without video β€” nobody catches them.

🚩 Red Flag #2: No Metrics. No exit velocity. No bat speed. No data of any kind. If there's nothing being measured β€” there's nothing being proven. Metrics don't tell the whole story, but they tell you if the needle is moving. No metrics means no proof. And no proof means no real development.

🚩 Red Flag #3: The Cookie-cutter Approach: Same drills. Same philosophy. Same program β€” for every athlete at every age. A 9-year-old and a 14-year-old do not need the same coaching. If your coach treats them like they do β€” your athlete is being failed.

Real coaching is filmed, measured, individualized, and age-appropriate. Every time.

No honest coach can tell you exactly when your child will get better. And if they do β€” run.

Here's the truth most coaches are too afraid to say:

There is no timeline. There is no crystal ball.

The swing is an ongoing process. Bodies change. Coordination develops differently in every athlete.

Some players make big leaps in the first few months. Others take longer. Neither is wrong.

What IS wrong is a coach selling you a 6-week transformation or a 3-month guarantee.

That's not coaching. That's a sales pitch.

Here's what we CAN tell you:

Whether your athlete is getting better week to week. Whether the data is trending in the right direction. Whether the work they're putting in is showing up in the numbers.

A player can go 0-for-3 and still have their best night at the plate. Three barrels hit hard. Bad luck on location.

Without tracking β€” you'd never know.
With tracking β€” you can see the truth.

At Hitting-365, we don't sell timelines. We sell transparency.

And transparency β€” backed by real data β€” is the only thing that builds real confidence.
