3 Drills to Stop Striking Out at the Plate đŸ„ŽâŹ‡ïžStriking out doesn’t always mean you need a new swing. Sometimes you need to train your vision, decision-making, and mindset.✅ Drill #1: Tennis Ball Number Tracking✅ Drill #2: Front Toss – Call out “In” or “Out” before every swing to improve pitch recognition.✅ Drill #3: Positive Self-Talk – Your mind controls your body. Replace “Don’t strike out” with a simple, confident cue like, “See it. Attack it.”DM me STOP STRIKING OUT to get these drills in more detail. đŸ’ȘđŸ„Ž by @hittingwithkmiller

This mistake is costing you playing time
and most hitters don’t even realize they’re making it.When the count gets to two strikes, too many hitters step into the box and take the exact same swing they would on 0-0.Same stride.Same intent.Same swing. The problem? The pitcher has the advantage. With two strikes, she’s trying to make you chase, change speeds, or force weak contact. If you don’t make an adjustment, you’re making her job a whole lot easier. The best hitters understand that two strikes isn’t just a different count—it’s a different approach. That doesn’t mean completely changing your swing. It means making small adjustments that give you a better chance to compete.đŸ„Ž Shorten your path to the ball.đŸ„Ž Eliminate unnecessary movement.đŸ„Ž Stay through the middle of the field.đŸ„Ž Focus on putting the ball in play hard instead of trying to hit a home run.Championship hitters don’t panic with two strikes—they become tougher to get out.Every quality at-bat gives your team another chance.Every ball put in play creates pressure on the defense.Every adjustment increases your value to your coach. If you’re still taking your full, “home run” swing with two strikes, you’re leaving too many at-bats to chance
and that can absolutely cost you opportunities and playing time. The hitters who consistently earn more innings aren’t always the most talented. They’re the ones who know how to compete when the count isn’t in their favor.👇 Send this to a fellow softball player who needs to make better two-strike adjustments. by @hittingwithkmiller

If you’re doing everything right and still not seeing results, this is why. Most hitters make one of the biggest mistakes I see
They’re physically at the game
But they’re mentally checked out until it’s their turn to hit. Here’s the truth:If you’re the #7 hitter, you shouldn’t be walking into your first at-bat with zero information. You should already have SIX mental at-bats before you ever take your first physical one.Every teammate before you is giving you free information. The hitters who take advantage of it step into the box with confidence instead of guessing. Before each at-bat, pay attention to the at bats before you instead of asking your bestie how the movie was she went and saw the other night. Don’t waste these opportunities, it’s all about being a student of the game. The dugout shouldn’t just be where you wait
It should be where you prepare. The best hitters don’t just have better swings. They gather better information.💬Send this to a teammate who is always your hype teammate but maybe could use some help locking in at the plate. by @hittingwithkmiller

Softball parents... this one sentence is destroying your hitter’s confidenceEVERY hitter has bad games. They already know they struck out. They already know they missed that pitch. They’ve probably replayed every at-bat in their head before they even get in the car. Then they hear...**”What happened out there?”**Or worse...**”You just have to want it more.”**Parents, I know you’re trying to help. But what your hitter hears is:*”I let my parents down.”*Instead of feeling supported...They feel judged. And over time, they stop opening up to you.The drive home becomes stressful.Their confidence drops. And your relationship starts revolving around performance instead of connection. The best thing you can say after a tough game is:**”I love watching you compete.”**Then let them bring up softball when they’re ready.Confidence isn’t built by pointing out mistakes. It’s built by knowing someone believes in you—even when you fail.👇 Parents, what’s the hardest part about supporting your athlete after a tough game? Comment **PARENT** below, and let’s talk about it. by @hittingwithkmiller

You don’t keep rolling over because your swing is broken
You keep rolling over because you’re stepping into the box unprepared. Most hitters spend all their time working on mechanics, but the best hitters are already gathering information before they ever take a swing. While the pitcher is warming up, don’t stand there waiting for your turn. Become a student of the game.Ask yourself these 3 questions:✅ 1. How fast is she?Is she quick, average, or slow? What’s her tempo? Does she quick pitch or take her time?✅ 2. What does she throw? What pitches does she have? Which ones have the most movement or spin?✅ 3. Is she around the zone?Is she consistently throwing strikes, or is she struggling with command? The more information you collect before stepping into the box, the slower the game feels when it’s your turn to hit.Preparation creates confidence. Confidence leads to better decisions. Better decisions lead to harder contact.đŸ“Č Follow for more softball hitting and mental game tips that help you become a more confident hitter. by @hittingwithkmiller

Softball hitters,If you don’t fix this now
nothing is going to change. đŸ„ŽOne of the biggest mistakes I see hitters make is pulling off the ball.In practice, your swing looks great. Then the game starts
and suddenly your front foot flies open, your head pulls off the ball, and you’re wondering why you can’t square anything up.The problem isn’t that you need a completely new swing.Your front side just hasn’t been trained to stay strong under game speed and pressure. That’s exactly why this drill works. The earlier you fix this habit, the easier it is to build a swing that holds up in games. Keep repeating it year after year, and it only becomes harder to break.Don’t wait until you’ve spent years reinforcing the wrong movement pattern.đŸ’Ÿ Save this video and add this drill to your next practice.👇 Tag a teammate who always says, “I keep pulling off the ball.” by @hittingwithkmiller

🚹 **14U hitters... this is why you’ve hit your ceiling.**Most hitters spend hours working on mechanics...But almost nobody teaches them **how to think** at the plate. Here’s what every hitter needs to know:đŸ„Ž Every at-bat should have a plan.* 0-0 game? Your approach is different.* Down 3-0 late? Your approach changes.* New pitcher? Your plan should adjust.đŸ„Ž Your job isn’t to swing at every strike.đŸ„Ž The best hitters understand:* The game situation.* The count.* The pitcher.* What pitch they’re hunting. This isn’t your fault...You’re just under-coached.Softball IQ is what separates good hitters from the hitters coaches trust in big moments.👇 Comment **ELITE** and let’s talk about what the framework would look like to work together and break through the average mindset. by @hittingwithkmiller

If you struggle rolling over the ball, read this.👇Most hitters think they need to swing harder to hit the ball harder. That’s not the problem. The biggest issue I see? Your barrel is late. When your barrel gets behind the ball, you get jammed, roll over, and wonder why the ball never leaves the infield.Instead, focus on these two things:✅ Catch the ball out in front.✅ Keep your barrel inside the ball. Those two adjustments alone can completely change the quality of your contact. But here’s what most coaches miss
Timing is a mental skill.Knowing when to start your swing is just as important as how you swing. If your timing is off, your mechanics don’t have a chance.Train your timing, and you’ll stop rolling over and start driving the ball with authority.đŸ”„ Follow me for more power and mindset tips!!! by @hittingwithkmiller
