• Locrian - New Catastrophism •
Latest release of Chicago-based @locrianofficial is ever-growing inside my head since it came out. Somehow you put it on and even after it ends you still listen to it deep inside some synapses. New Catastrophism really puts the glacier-theme to work: slowly drifting cold atmosphere throughout the mind, sending shivers down the spine.

Stunning work, highly recommended! Great successor for Infinite Dissolution.

• Abest - Molten Husk •
Third full-length, punching drums, gnarly bass, riffing guitar and some rasping vocals. All mixed up to a hectic yet oddly harmonic source of friction piercing something somewhere deep inside your darkest corners. Vibrant and sinister release for sure!

"Assembled and reassembled,
Disassembled and rearranged"

Happy release-day and hope to see you soon live!

• Det här är inte sverige •
It sure does look and feel a lot like a hike in Sweden but is actually right around the corner. Definitely a very nice new neighborhood that we've found here. Can't wait for autumn and winter!

• Grift - Hymns among Hills •
After more than two years of absence I joined the first concert since the pandemic hit. Glad that it was @griftofficial (second time after five years) with a semi-acoustic set featuring some of my personal favourites. Best way to get back into concerts.

Thanks for stopping by, Erik!

• ArnoxDuebel •
If you're into Powerviolence / Fastcore you shouldn't miss out on the beloved ArnoxDuebel. Some releases are still missing on this picture but with two 7" and two tapes you can stir some dust in your brain. Love to see them live some day after this pandemic scourge.

• Birthday Tripping •
Had a great and sunny road trip with @heart_cooks_brain87 for my birthday, including lemonade and vegan junk food.
Best Day 2 of a single-day event.

Each meal comes at a price.
Each bite a mockery of life.

Huge thanks to @passion.means.struggle for making me aware of @xclearxcutx and the awesome music this band / collective creates. Vegan Straight Edge / Hardcore with an important message.
Absolutely love the powerful riffs, rhythm, spoken words, furious rage and the overall melancholic atmosphere, that can get your blood boiling. Looking forward to the new album!

Until every cage is empty!

• Favourites 2021 •
What a year again. Highs and lows and all the things. Major highlight definitely was visiting Lapland and some personal stuff that's going on. Also some records that really left their marks.
These following artists and bands definitely found the right words and played the right tunes to make '21 feel less wrong. Thanks and a lot of love for that!

• Autumn Journeys •
Wishing back to roam the autumnal and primeval forests in Sweden with all that stillness, smells and distinctive nature surrounding oneself.

• Step Forward - Demos 1989-1990 •

Absolute surprise with this record bought blindly over at @bisaufsmesserrecords and couldn't be happier. Some Minor Threat'ish Hardcore from Umeå and predecessor to one of the most famous punk-bands @refused with a 17 year old Dennis Lyxzén doing vocals. Not only the artwork reminds of MT, there are also two covers (Filler / Steppin Stone) that create the link between DC and Umeå-Hardcore.

If you're into Minor Threat, Negative Approach, DRI and also Refused, give this compilation a shot! No regrets. Love this.

• Början av hösten •
About two months ago it already started to look, smell and feel like autumn in Swedish Lapland. Definitely a one of a kind-time to visit, though @heart_cooks_brain87 and me have to check for winter. Really need to get back up there!

• Midwife - Luminol •
Instant favourite for the colder and darker days by Midwife, who flew under my radar for quite a while. Luminol managed to put the wirk of @mercury_tracer right in my focus and also the earlier releases, which - for me - are a grower at this point.
If you're into shoegazing, slightly noisy but still warm and full-sounding guitars and an overall melancholic atmosphere with a soothing voice, you have to give this a listen. If you're into stuff that the wonderful people at @theflenser putting out, you should listen to this too or probably already have.
