Picked this gem of a book up a few months back @porter_square_books in Boston while visiting friends. After reading a staff review, I was both interested and a little hesitant, not gonna lie. My hesitation was so unwarranted. This book is SO! MUCH! FUN!. Literally one of the most entertaining reading experiences I’ve ever had. I couldn’t put it down, and I can’t stop telling people about it. Kudos to @sarahreesbrennan - I can’t wait to get my copy of “All Hail Chaos”, the next book in the series, releasing May 12th.

Nerding out over my new, glass wipe board- my latest writing tool! This video shows me working through a family tree for one of my characters, along with a lot of terrible math. It’s not easy keeping track of births, marriages, and deaths when Baron Fitzwalter (top left) is on his fourth wife.

A much needed calming bath at the end of a strange day. What started productive and inspired (dogs vet confirming they are healthy and happy specimens,) was followed by me getting into a pretty terrifying car accident with said healthy puppies in the car. We’re all ok- but what a reminder how quickly life can change. The world slowed down and I got to experience everything through a time warp before it sped back up. I’m so grateful to all the caring women who stopped to check in on us on the side of a fast moving highway. My car took the worst of it, but honestly, could have been much, much worse. by @hizza_writes

I caught this moment where a prism cast a rainbow across this moon mask and had to capture it. The rainbow disappeared within seconds of taking the photo- a rare moment of simple, everyday magic.

I have had Piranesi, by @susannaclarke_ on my TBR list for quite some time, saving it to read when I felt I had the time and space to digest it properly. Now that I have, how to describe this book? My best explanation is it feels like that uncomfortable moment of looking up at an intensely star-filled sky and feeling simultaneously insignificant and overwhelmed with joy at its possibility. If you read, give it time. This story is a slow crawl but worth the work and openness. I’ve never read anything quite like it.
