One of our young devs @fahiemjfilms built a QuestUp Golf Tour on his “break time” — and now he’s doing the part many developers don’t do. He’s preparing to taking it to his own communities and putting it in front of real players. And “a student made a game” undersells what he built: → It runs in the browser. Nothing to install, nothing to download — it opens on a school Chromebook like any webpage. → Live multiplayer over a WebSocket, so two players in two different places watch the same shot land in the same second. → Its own server Powered with Amazon Web Services behind its own proxy, because real-time play needs a home that ordinary static hosting can’t give it. Date/Movie Night with my wife @horizonfire131 and really good friends! I think the movie represents the struggles we all have to deal with in life with family without separating religion and faith from the daily struggles. Living through Super Storm Sandy, a Pandemic and my own Mom’s passing with the support of my wife and family (May Allah grant mom the highest station of Paradise🤲🏾) , I get how real life can be and how Your faith Will ultimately be put to the Test no matter how much you say “You Believe”. 4/5(x − 10) + (4/5) x = (-3/2) x + 7 My middle schooler saw this and got shook. I don’t blame him. It looks like a wall. First thing I told him: don’t panic. This is easier than it looks. Then we took it apart: 1️⃣ Distribute — and pay attention to what -4/5 times -10 gives you 2️⃣ Additive inverse — those two 4/5x terms cancel each other and walk right off the board 3️⃣ Change the side, change the sign 4️⃣ Take it home Three and a half minutes, start to finish. The problem was never as big as it looked. It just had to come apart in the right order. I’m not putting the answer here. This problem had my son sweating on an Algebra test. Not because he doesn’t know algebra — because the road he was taking was all number gymnastics. Shuffling terms, second-guessing every step, more work piling up at every turn. So I gave him the line my teacher gave me: “When you change the side, you change the sign.” — Sister Marziyah Six words. The whole problem opened up. How we worked it: 1️⃣ Criss-cross multiplication to clear the fractions 2️⃣ Distribute 3️⃣ Then start changing sides — and change the sign every single time When we finished, he told me himself: “that way is mad easy.” That’s the entire goal. Not harder. Easier. A tool he keeps for the next test, and the one after that. Prayers for Sister Marziyah and all the Incredible teachers out there! She taught me this in middle school and I’m teaching it to my son in the same grade he’s in now. That’s how knowledge is supposed to move — teacher to student, student to his children. My son missed this one on his 8th grade algebra test. So we took it outside, put it on the board, and worked it all the way through. Four moves and a classic Solve for X falls apart: 1️⃣ Least common denominator 2️⃣ Split the fraction — a technique my own teacher taught me back in the day 3️⃣ Combine like terms 4️⃣ Solve, then check your answer Step 4 is the one students skip.
