Well that was a rather special week in Scotland - the first Gordon Murray T.50 driving tour with a wonderful group of custodians on some of Gordon and Dario’s favourite roads - the roads T.50 was designed and engineered for.
I was lucky that most of my time was at the wheel thanks to Gordon but a few hours in the passenger seat with him driving his own car XP3 was an experience that I will never forget.
Thank you to those who joined us and @white_labelevents for running the tour - sublime. ❤️ by @hjw_s

The mission: make the most engaging, analogue, driver-focused hypercar of all time.
The execution: the Gordon Murray T.50.

The T.50 feels like a complete outlier in today’s automotive world. In an industry obsessed with big power, huge aero, hybrid systems and more weight, this car goes the other way entirely. There’s nothing else like it.

The only numbers that really matter are the ones that define its purpose: under 1,000kg, a 6-speed manual gearbox, 12 cylinders, and 12,500rpm.

A lot of people don’t understand this car. They look at the design and call it too simple, too plain, too understated. But that’s exactly the point. The T.50 isn’t trying to win a spec-sheet war or chase lap times for the sake of it. It’s about taking the idea of a driver’s car back to its purest form — engine, gearbox, weight, balance, feedback, emotion.

You can have all the downforce, hybridisation and straight-line speed you want. But for me, the only metric that really matters is how big your smile is when you get out of the car.

And on that leaderboard, I can’t imagine anything sitting above this.

I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience this car and photograph it for a second time. Being able to call the owner a good friend is something I’ll never take for granted, and I’m genuinely grateful for their kindness, generosity and trust.

Everyone knows how obsessed I am with the T.50. I never stop rambling about them, and honestly, I don’t think I ever will.

Because every now and then, a car comes along that reminds you why you fell in love with cars in the first place.

For me, this is one of them. taken in Marlow, Buckinghamshire by @hjw_s

GMA T.50 XP10, finished in Dixon Bronze with gold wheels.
What a beautiful, classy spec. Understated, elegant, and perfectly suited to a car that is anything but ordinary.

This car belongs to Dario Franchitti, and that makes it feel even more special. Dario hasn’t just been involved with the T.50 — he’s been a huge part of its story, helping shape and develop what is, to so many people, the ultimate driver’s car. And when you hear him speak about it, you can instantly tell this goes far beyond performance figures or marketing talk. He isn’t trying to sell a car, he’s talking about a feeling — the kind of emotion and connection that only a truly special machine can give.

That’s what makes the T.50 so fascinating to me. It isn’t just another hypercar. It represents something deeper — a celebration of everything a great driver’s car should be.

Seeing XP10 appear in public for the first time at the 83rd Goodwood Members’ Meeting felt like the perfect moment. A special car, in a special place, with the right people around it. One of those unveilings that just felt right. taken in Goodwood Motor Circuit by @hjw_s

A tribute to one of the greatest automotive minds of all time — Professor Gordon Murray.

This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed celebrated 60 years of Gordon Murray Design, and what a celebration it was.
From four McLaren F1 GTRs, to nine GMA T.50s, two T.33s, two T.50S Niki Laudas, and a lineup of legendary race cars including the Brabham BT52—every corner of his genius was on display.

I’m not sure exactly why, but I feel incredibly connected to the GMA brand. Maybe it’s because the F1 GTR is my all-time favourite car, or maybe it’s just the fact that everything Gordon creates ends up being the best car of its era—both in spirit and execution.

And it’s not just the cars—it’s the people. Every T.50 owner I’ve met has been incredibly kind, humble, and genuinely enthusiastic. No ego, no need to flex—just true car lovers who are excited to share their passion.

It was a true privilege to be around these machines and the people behind them.
Gordon, thank you for shaping the automotive world—and inspiring the next generation of enthusiasts and dreamers. taken in Goodwood Festival of Speed by @hjw_s

What a day at Goodwood thanks to @sportspurpose

Awesome to see 3 rockets together on Gordon Murray’s birthday! 2 out on track and I got to experience one for the first time thanks to the lovely JT.

My M4 was a different car on new 18inch 2Forge wheels from @h20wes_westsuffolkracing (thanks buddy!) and had great fun giving a few passenger laps. taken in Goodwood Motor Circuit by @hjw_s

Part 4 of my 7-part GMA T.50 series from the 82nd Goodwood Members’ Meeting—and today’s feature is chassis 64, wearing the plate ‘JOY 3’.

Finished in Genesis Blue, this isn’t just a beautiful spec—it’s part of a story. JOY 3 lives alongside a matching McLaren P1 and, yes, a Genesis Blue McLaren F1. The holy trinity of analogue, hybrid, and V12 fan-driven insanity.

And this T.50 doesn’t just sit next to that F1—it mirrors it. From the colour to the body-coloured rear panels, this spec pays tribute to the past while pushing well beyond it.

It’s elegant, precise, and effortlessly cool. Just like the rest of the garage.

Swipe through one of the most meaningful specs of the set so far. Four down, three to go—roulette wheel spins again soon. taken in Goodwood Motor Circuit by @hjw_s
