At 42, my life looks nothing like I thought it would.

I used to think success meant stability, certainty, staying on the “safe” path.

But somewhere along the way, I realized I had outgrown the life I built.

The hardest seasons of your life have a way of changing you.
Of stripping away what no longer fits.
Of forcing you to get honest about what actually matters.

And even though some of the decisions I’ve made didn’t make sense to everyone… they made sense to me.

What started as a pivot into wellness, waterless skincare, and helping women feel confident again ended up changing my entire life.

Honestly?
I’ve never felt more aligned, more healthy, or more myself.

And I think there’s something really beautiful about realizing your life isn’t over at 40.

Sometimes it’s only the beginning. taken in Canada by @hmflood7

I worked as aesthetic nurse before joining Oliveda, and let me tell you, the amount of filler I had to achieve this result 😍

After taking my internals daily, I am still blown away by my results, and how they are making me feel!

My face is plump in all the right places, it’s glowing and I don’t have dry skin anymore 🤭

The secret ingredient- hydroxytyrosol 🫒 - it’s one of the most potent antioxidants in the entire world, cleaning up oxidative stress from the inside 🤗

When your skin is hydrated and replenishing collagen, the signs of ageing will diminish with consistency ✨

These internals-hyaluron, I01, and collagen are bioactive ingredients working at a cellular level with your cells! Your cells LOVE ❤️ this stuff!!

I used to think taking care of my skin meant investing in medical-grade skincare, lasers + peels.

But over time, I started asking a bigger question: What does taking care of my skin from the inside out actually look like?

That curiosity led me to learn more about cellular health, antioxidants, and the role everyday choices play in our overall well-being. I started looking differently at what I was nourishing my body with, what I was putting on my skin, and the ingredients behind the products I was using.

That’s how I discovered OLIVEDA and its different approach to skincare through waterless formulas and concentrated olive-derived ingredients.

Today, I love how my skin looks and feels: more hydrated, smoother-looking and radiant. My journey has changed the way I think about beauty, and I’m still learning along the way.

Because caring for your skin can be about more than what you put on your face. I want to explore the bigger picture, especially for women navigating changes in their skin in their 40s.

You don’t have to change everything overnight. You can start by getting curious about a different approach.

Skincare is a big part of my world, but it’s not my whole personality. 😂

Here’s where you’ll find me when I’m not talking all things skin and glow.

Happy Friday! What’s everyone getting up to this weekend? Give me the fun plans, the cozy plans, or the absolutely no plans. 😂🤍 by @hmflood7

These changed how I think about my skin 👇

When I look at these before-and-afters, I see less redness, smoother-looking texture, more hydration, softer-looking fine lines, and a fuller, more vibrant appearance.

But the biggest shift was learning to look at my skin from the inside out.

1. I had to start thinking about inflammation from the inside out.
I personally dealt with what felt like internal inflammation, and I could see how that showed up in my skin. I started incorporating I01 + I70 and paying much more attention to olive oil and olive-derived ingredients because of their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

2. I had to stop assuming more products meant better skin.
I found the Love Duo to be incredibly hydrating for my skin, and I loved how much it added to that healthy, glowing look. It became one of those simple combinations I kept coming back to instead of constantly adding more products.

3. I had to learn what bioactive skincare actually means.
I became much more interested in what ingredients are actually doing in a formula, where they come from, and how the formulation works with my skin.

4. I had to rethink the foundation of my skincare.
By removing water as the primary base, the foundation of my skincare became concentrated botanical ingredients, including olive leaf and its naturally occurring hydroxytyrosol. That completely changed how I looked at formulation. I started paying attention to what my skincare was actually built around, rather than simply choosing products based on what they promised to do.

5. I had to make my makeup work with my skin.
Now I use OLIVEDA—literally antioxidant plant food for your skin. I love that my makeup can give me the coverage and glow I want while still feeling like an extension of my skincare. The goal is to enhance the skin I’ve worked so hard to care for, not cover it up.

There wasn’t one magic product that changed everything. 🫒 🌱

It was learning to look at my skin differently—what I was putting on it, what I was doing from within, and how everything worked together. by @hmflood7

Hydration is an inside-out issue 👇

If your skin is dry, tired-looking, or showing more noticeable fine lines, your first instinct might be to buy another moisturizer.

Here are the 3 things I look at instead:

1. Drink your skincare.
I70 is one of my favorites for an inside-out approach. I love supporting hydration from within alongside my topical routine, especially when I’m going for that fresh, glowy look.

2. Go bioactive.
Look beyond the pretty packaging and ask what’s actually in the formula. Bioactive skincare uses biologically active ingredients from natural raw materials and puts the focus on what those ingredients are doing for your skin.

3. Look at the base of your formula.
This is where most women are surprised. Water isn’t bad, but it is commonly used as a base, carrier, or solvent and requires preservation and stabilization within the formula. Waterless skincare takes a different approach by using concentrated botanical ingredients as the foundation.

For me, skincare became much more interesting when I stopped asking “What product do I need?” and started asking “What is actually in this formula?”

The marketing around skincare lately can really make you feel like you’re always missing something.

Another serum. Another treatment. Another “must-have” ingredient. Another product promising to fix the thing you suddenly didn’t realize was wrong with your skin.

And honestly? You may need a lot less than you think.

I’d rather see you have a few really good products that work with your skin, understand what’s actually in them, and know why those ingredients are there than have 12 products fighting for a place on your bathroom counter.

Start paying attention to the ingredients, the formulation, and what your skin actually needs. Your routine doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective. It needs to make sense.

Your skin doesn’t need more noise. It needs the right products, used consistently. taken in Canada by @hmflood7

I’d start here 👇

If you’re noticing more lines, changes in texture, pigmentation, or skin that just doesn’t look as vibrant as it used to, your first instinct might be to buy another product.

I look at it differently now.

1. Look at what you’re putting on your skin.
Ingredients matter. I pay attention to what’s actually in the formula instead of choosing something simply because it has a great claim on the front.

2. Look at how many products you’re using.
You don’t need a bathroom full of skincare. I’d rather have a few targeted products that make sense for your skin and actually use them consistently.

3. Look at your hydration.
Hydrated, plump-looking skin can make such a difference in how your skin looks. This is something I pay much more attention to now than I did years ago.

4. Look at what you’re putting in your body, too.
This was probably the biggest shift for me. I started “drinking my skincare” with my daily internals — I01, I66 and I70 — and made supporting my skin from the inside part of my routine.

That changed the way I think about skincare completely.

I don’t want my entire anti-aging strategy to live in a bottle I put on my face. I want to think about my skin from the inside and outside, keep my routine intentional, and actually stay consistent with it.

That’s the approach that has made the biggest difference in how I think about my own skin.

Six months. Same face, very different skin.

When I look at these before and afters, what stands out to me most is the texture, fullness and vibrancy in my skin.

And the funny thing is, I didn’t add a complicated routine. I actually simplified.

1. I started drinking my skincare.
I01, I66 and I70 became part of my daily routine. Supporting my skin from the inside became just as important to me as what I was putting on it.

2. I started paying attention to ingredients.
I stopped choosing skincare based on the bottle, the marketing, or the label. I started turning the bottle around and asking, what is actually in this formula?

3. I switched to waterless beauty.
Learning more about formulation completely changed how I look at skincare. I became much more interested in what the foundation of a formula is and what I’m actually putting on my skin.

And maybe the biggest surprise?

I didn’t need a bathroom full of products.

I chose a few targeted products for my skin, stayed consistent, and stopped feeling like I needed to constantly find the next thing.

That shift has completely changed the way I approach skincare. Less chasing. More intention. More consistency. 🌿 taken in Canada by @hmflood7
