In a traditional model of training doctors at medical schools, students don’t meet patients until they encounter one in a sterile exam room. At the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, some of the best learning can be found in the lush backyard garden of Rafael Herrera, right at the meeting of root and soil. by @hmhschoolofmed

Congratulations to 162 future physicians, the ninth and newest cohort at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine! We asked them what they're most excited about as they begin their incredible journey to become doctors. For our part, we couldn't be prouder to have them on board.

Our Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine welcomed 162 medical students into the ninth cohort this year. At our White Coat Ceremony, we asked students what specialties they are interested in and what they are most excited for in their journey through medical school. From community-based learning to clinical experience to exploring the curriculum and art of medicine, you'll hear it all! Congratulations to this inspiring group!

The HMSOM’s Eighth Annual Human Dimension Community Health Projects Symposium was a tremendous success.

We celebrate our M2 students’ dedication and their impactful, year-long collaborations with community partners to improve the health and well-being of patients in our local communities.

Thanks for your sterling example to our incoming cohort of M1s, showing what our HD curriculum and CHP mean by learning through service.

We look forward to continuing in this proud tradition next year! by @hmhschoolofmed

Today officially begins the training of our newest cohort, with our 2026 White Cost Ceremony.

We at HMSOM are honored to prepare our med students for humanistic patient care and critical thinking in using the training, tools, and ever-expanding technologies at their disposal to dispatch their hard-earned skills and knowledge and uphold the Physician’s Pledge.

In this auditorium, we understand our pledges unto each other as both educators and physicians in training, as we don our white coats for the journey ahead.

"Why medicine?"

A simple question that holds all the complexities of a physician's journey. At the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine commencement ceremony yesterday, we asked our grads and faculty why they chose and continue to choose the field of medicine.

The technological marvels and radical innovation of the 2020s might obscure—but can’t dilute—the humanity of conscientious medical care.

HMSOM’s Class of 2026 must embrace advances in their field as always, but merely as tools to treat the whole person in their care.

Today, we celebrate the 168 new physicians of the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. @aamctoday by @hmhschoolofmed
