It’s pretty special hearing this from one of the charities we support. 🖤

We’ve been riding and raising money for children and young people since 2013, and we’re incredibly proud of what Heavy Metal Truants has achieved. But it’s not just us. Not by a long shot…

It’s every sponsor who’s backed us, every volunteer who’s given their time, every person who’s donated, shared a post, bought a raffle ticket or cheered us on from the sidelines.

Every single one of you has played a part in making HMT what it is today, and in helping the charities we support do their incredible work.

So when we hear words like these, they’re for you, too.

There’s still time to make a difference in 2026. If you’ve been meaning to donate, or fancy giving our fundraising total one last push before HMTXIV comes to a close, we’d be enormously grateful for your support.

On 5th November, we’re taking over The Imperial Palace of Big Red in Camden to reveal just how much this year’s Truants raised for our charities.

We’re incredibly sad to hear that Dame Esther Rantzen has died.

Esther founded Childline in 1986, creating a place where children and young people could be heard, supported and helped when they had nowhere else to turn.

Childline has been part of the Heavy Metal Truants story since the very beginning, and over the years Esther was an extraordinary supporter of what the Truants were doing too.

When HMT reached £1 million raised, she sent Rod this handwritten letter. Her words about what that money meant - “Thousands of desperate children will be saved, protected, comforted & supported thanks to you and The Truants” - meant an enormous amount to us then, and even more today.

We’re very proud to have played a small part in supporting the extraordinary thing she created, and we’ll keep riding and raising money so that work can continue.

HOW has it been a month already?!

One month ago today, this lot rolled into Bloodstock and HMTXIV officially crossed the finish line.

Three days on the road, 175+ miles from London to Bloodstock, some questionable tan lines, plenty of roadside nonsense and one hell of a group of people to do it with. 🖤🤘🖤

We’ve still got so much from the ride that we haven’t shared yet… so here are a few more hand picked moments.

The cycling might be done, but the fundraising isn’t. We’re still raising money for @teenage_cancer , @childline_official , @savechildrenuk and @nordoffrobbins.
