We have to start taking a stand. We have to protect our women. Domestic violence is real. 💔 I lost my cousin to someone who couldn’t handle her walking away. & while some may be say he’s gone too it doesn’t bring her back! I’ve Been trying to find the words for days to express how I feel but I’m left speechless. Still. The hurt we’re feeling, the anger, the confusion. You did not deserve this at all Meka. You had so much more to give. The way you loved on your kids, on us, your fitness journey, the way you poured into everyone around you… it’s unmatched. Every time I lost someone you were right there whether if it was a text or a DM checking up on me. I’m sitting here waiting for you to check up on me, or someone to at least say that you’re okay. You’re going to be okay. Meka this shit hurting bad man. 💔 I am not okay. IM NOT!!!! 😭😭😭😭 I love you so much @tomeka_patricia84 and I’m glad everytime we spoke we told each other that. 🤍

I appreciate those of you who reached out, shared your memories, or even just checked up to see how I was doing. I’m going to step away from social media for a while as I process everything. Just please pray for my family. Especially her kids. 🫶🏾🕊️

Also if you are dealing with domestic violence in your relationship please speak to someone, let your loved ones know. Take action right away. Even down to a them putting their hands in your face. It starts there and will get worst. Anyone that loves you will not do anything to harm you nor will they put you in harms way. They’ll protect you and your feelings. Be with someone who’s gentle with you. Someone who knows how to communicate properly. Someone who’s emotionally intelligent. Your life matters! Whether it’s verbal, emotional, physical abuse… it’s not love! The longer you allow it, the worst it will become. And if you’re scared to “losing” them to someone else let the next person deal with it.—Believe me, you’ll much rather want to lose them than to lose yourself! & BLACK MEN, WE NEED TO PROTECT THESE BLACK WOMEN!!!!!! THEY NEED US JUST AS MUCH AS WE NEED THEM! THEY’RE OUR MOTHERS, OUR SISTERS, OUR COUSINS, OUR NEICES, OUR GRANDMOTHERS, OUR AUNTS! PROTECT THEM!!!! 🤍
