Chiasma by @form.language
for @phishrivieramaya
.
.
Chiasma is a timber and light sculpture exploring symmetry and intersecting spatial geometries. Addressable LED lighting is embedded within each timber member, creating a layered field of light that emerges through the concentric structure.

Using @touchdesigner Form Language controlled the LED array in real time throughout the festival, allowing the sculpture to respond dynamically to the surrounding music and atmosphere.

Thank you @atomicomx_ and @seed_mexico for bringing the fabrication and light system to life. by @hnzlr.la

Pixel Pop [LED Timber Array] - LIB 2026
Visual Art + Volumetric System Design

Codename: Sparkle Woods
Built in @touchdesigner with GLSL

25 timber columns in a 5×5 grid, wrapped on all four faces with 29,800 addressable pixels, driven in real time at 240fps from a single Mac Mini.

200 sACN universes, 6 PixLite controllers, GPU-based DMX pixel packing

Features: volumetric mapping engine, generative + video source layers, layer system, preset engine, LFO automation, persistence-of-vision modes, browser-based performer UI, networked control, full pre-vis model

The pre-vis runs a 20×20 array (476,800 pixels) in real time, so the engine is ready to scale.

Installation Design: Josh Flemming
Visual Art + Volumetric System Design: Matt Heinzler
Network Systems & Video Playback: Mike Kenworthy
Fabrication: Do LaB
LED Technician: Adam Pratt
LED setup: Elliott Shuffle

Thanks to Jon Rowe for the early conversations that helped shape the development process.
