a little introductory post ⊹ ˖ Ი𐑼 about how this little reverie of mine came to manifest as this account. ૮꒰˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶꒱ა it’s nice to meet you, fellow book bunnies! and hopefully, as much as it brought me solace to write them, my words can bring you some variation of comfort too ♡ thank you for being here! may these little worlds we wander into together offer us a place to rest our hearts, and may, for a little while, we find comfort in knowing we are not alone. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎★ ⁺. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ (\_(\ /)_/) ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ( ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ )( ‎ ‎ ‎ ) ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎/ ‎ ‎ | ‎ ‎ ‎| ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎\ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎( O | ‎‎ | ‎ O ) _______________________________________ 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 @𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳 ♡ by @hoanguyenauthor

the religious imagery came from thinking about the way we talk about sin, forgiveness, and grace. it is truly strange how those words can feel when you’re trying to make sense of another person’s iniquity for touching your body against your will. —— from 𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙤, a collection of letters that were never meant to be sent; to those who hurt us, those we grieve, those we love, and the versions of ourselves that we’re still learning to understand. _______________________________________ 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘪 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 @𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳 ♡ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ***𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴. 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵*** by @hoanguyenauthor
the justice system is a fcking joke. it protects the most vile predators, while silencing vigilantes and forcing us to be on our knees in front of those we fought so desperately against. these poems were birthed in the aftermath of losing my voice, my platform, and pieces of myself while advocating for what i believed was right. these words are what’s left when speaking out cost me more than i ever imagined it would. these are the words i have nowhere to say. _______________________________________ 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘪 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 @𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳 ♡ by @hoanguyenauthor
i definitely wrote this from a place of anger lol. when you have to watch someone cause immense harm, walk away without accountability, while simultaneously trying to silence you for speaking about it, it most likely will induce a lot of rage. there’s a lot of ire in this piece, it also embodies the process of learning to let go of the need to see justice for myself. i place my belief in karma, and my faith in understanding that actions have consequences, whether or not we are there to witness them. _______________________________________ 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘪 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 @𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳 ♡ by @hoanguyenauthor
definitely a little different than my usual style, but i have really enjoyed being able to write with more ornate verbiage. _______________________________________ 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘪 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 @𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳 ♡ by @hoanguyenauthor

✧˚₊· người mẹ vượt biên ·₊˚✧ is a piece dedicated for my mother. it translates roughly to something along the lines of “the mother who crossed the seas.” though to be quite frank, i do not think a translation could do justice for the depth of sacrifice behind the words “vượt biên.” for my fellow literary analysis nerds, yes there was indeed a tribute to my mother’s journey, as a boat refugee from the vietnam war in the imagery. i hope you enjoy dissecting the poem as much as i enjoyed writing it. ₊˚⊹ ᰔ —— from 𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙤, a collection of letters that were never meant to be sent; to those who hurt us, those we grieve, those we love, and the versions of ourselves that we’re still learning to understand. _______________________________________ 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘪 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 @𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳 ♡ by @hoanguyenauthor
