Hobby backlog challenge  I recently moved back to England and have realized how many hobby kits & supplies I've accumulated that sit in a ‘craft’ corner and never get used! I'm challenging myself to complete one of these hobbies a month before buying anything new to clear the backlog and to spend less time scrolling on my phone. I'm also going to be sharing other hobbies & crafts I enjoy, trying new things and exploring.  #hobbies #crafting #12monthchallenge by @hobby.em
October Recap! October was a uncertain month for me but made the most of the autumn weather 🍂 and got back into colouring which I hadn't done for a long time and really enjoyed it. I find it very relaxing. I am a big fan of stop motion animation and was looking forward to seeing Wildwood at the cinema. It didn't disappoint, it is a beautiful and immersive film. I would definitely recommend. It made me want to read the books. It reminded me how much I like the cjnema so going to make the effort to go more often. What were your October highlights? Excited to see what this month brings ✨️ #octoberrecap #monthlyrecap #cozyseasons by @hobby.em
I decided to make the most of the end of October and do some autumn and seasonal colouring in. I found some free pages on the coco wyo website which are fun. And as not in a book I found it more freeing to try things out and experiement with new pens without worrying about messing a page up. I'm really enjoying colouring at the moment and looking forward to trying new techniques and other seasonal pages. #colouringin #colouringforadults #cosyhobbies #cocowyocoloring #autumnvibes🍁 by @hobby.em
October Hobby Backlog Challenge! Time: 4 and 1/2 hour Difficulty: it can take a little bit of practice to place the gems correctly but it isn't too difficult. You do have to have patience as it does take a while to complete and I imagine a big sized one would be a commitment! Enjoyment: 9/10 - once I got into the rhythm of placing the gems I found it very relaxing. I liked that it was enough to keep you interested but not too mentally taxing. I'm really pleased with the final picture and love the sparkly effect. I'm going to get a frame for it as think it would be nice to have a craft I've done displayed on the wall. #hobbies #octoberhobby #diamondart #tryingnewcrafts by @hobby.em
Skin tone marker challenge I want to get back into colouring as I find it a very relaxed and low energy hobby. I thought the skin tone challenge would be a good inspiration to start with as it gives me autumn vibes 🍂 I'm pleased with how it turned out and would try it again. It was also quite nice to have a smaller selection of colours to choose from. What's your favorite cozy hobby? #colouringin #colouringforadults #skintonechallenge #cozyhobbies by @hobby.em
We decied to get the steam train from Bishops lydeard to Minehead for my dad's birthday. It was a fun experience and nice to spend some time together outside and doing something different. The weather was beautiful and I love seeing all the autumn colours! How was your weekend? #Somerset #bishopslydeardsteamtrain #exploring by @hobby.em
September Book Recap I only read one book last month due to illness and a finger injury. But it is one that has been on my TBR list for a long time and didn't disappoint. Butter: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 I also couldn't resist buying some books although I have plenty as it is! What was your favorite read in September? #septemberbookrecap #reading #hobbies by @hobby.em
September Hobby Backlog Challenge! Watercolor Painting Time: 1 and 1/2 hours Difficulty: as someone who has never really painted before it was a bit of a learning curve to control where the paint went Enjoyment: 8/10 - it was originally lower than this as it didn't look as in my head and I could see all the imperfections. But once I let go of the idea it had to be perfect I enjoyed it and would like to experiment with paining more. I like the textured effect you get. #watercolours #hobbies #septemberhobbies #tryingnewthings by @hobby.em
Book Bedazzling ✨️ Tried book bedazzling for the first time at a event run by @circular_social_ It was fun to try something I've not done before in a relaxing environment and talk to new people about books and more. We also went for a delicious brunch and had a look in some of the independent shops. It was a enjoyable Sunday. Would you try book bedazzling? #exeter #crafting #bookbedazzling by @hobby.em
Day trip to Bristol Decided to go for a day out in Bristol to see the 50 Years of Aardman exhibit at the M Shed. It was definitely worth going to. Aardman was a big part of my childhood and I'm a big fan of stop animation. It was very interesting to see the process and all the work that goes into it. The weather was lovely and had a nice time walking around the Quay. Who are your favorite Aardman characters? #bristol #50yearsofaardman #wallaceandgromit by @hobby.em
August Book Recap I really enjoyed all the books I read last month. The Killer Question kept me going on a long and very hot train ride! Books: The Killer Question 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 1/2 The Impossible Fortune 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Sunrise On The Reaping 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 A Case Of Life And Limb 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 What was your favorite read in August? #augustbookrecap #reading #hobbies by @hobby.em
August Hobby Backlog Challenge! Paper Mosaics Time: 3 hours Difficulty: 6/10 - it took a bit of getting used to cutting out the shapes but not too difficult. I started with a beginner one. A couple of shapes were printed on the wrong colour paper so I had to redo them Enjoyment: 9/10 - it was a fun and relaxing activity. I think the finished picture is effective and the kit has a range of beginner to advanced designs so will definitely do another one #crafting #papermosaic #hobbykit by @hobby.em
