We welcome Hoda to Dover as our latest Resident. Hoda Jahanpour is an Iranian-Slovak cellist, songwriter, and composer drawn to musical experiences that generate energy and bring people together. Her journey has taken her from solo performances with the Prague Philharmonic to sharing the stage with Nicola Benedetti as an Edinburgh International Festival Rising Star. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Robert Cohen and earned her Master’s with distinction, she was Deal Festival’s Young Artist in Association for 2025 and the cellist in Silent Words, an experimental music theatre piece premiered at the Barbican Pit Theatre. She is a founding member of the Woolf Quartet, which performed at Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room at the Southbank Centre and in 1901 Arts Club in its last season. Moving fluidly between Western classical, jazz, and folk, Hoda has worked with artists including Nubya Garcia, Corinne Bailey Rae and Abel Selaocoe, with performances at London Jazz Festival, Royal Festival Hall and live on BBC Radio 3. During her 2026 Dover Residency, Hoda will be working on a new solo project, featuring compositions for voice, cello and electronics interwoven with threads of improvisation. @f.a.t.studio @hodacello @dovercreativenetwork #doveresidency by @hodacello

Photos from some really special gigs playing in @devongatesmusic 's band over the past year🩷 including at London Jazz Festival last November! 🌻I've also started writing and recording more of my own music, excited to keep developing it 2026 and start sharing it with you all☺️ by @hodacello
We are so proud of Beatrice for hosting her first ever showcase at @mapstudiocafe ! The night was filled with music and storytelling from a variety of artists, from western classical to R&B to jazz, and we could all feel a new sense of community forming💕 As part of the line up we performed 'Assemblance' a new piece that @beatricesviola wrote for us🤩🤩 and the third movement of Shostakovich's 7th String Quartet. It was also so special to collaborate with poet @by.mya, improvising along to her spoken words✨ Excited to see what you cook up next Bea :)) 📸 @miriampancheva by @hodacello
