There were no crowds but all the feels were there. The day that @hannah_nee and myself and the rest of @the_fireflies_tour climbed Mt Ventoux THREE TIMES in one day to raise money to find a cure for blood cancer. Today @letourdefrance is only going up 1 time!!! That is dedication!

On OCTOBER 3, 2025 — OCTOBER 10, 2025, the @fireflieswest are going on ANOTHER adventure for CITY OF HOPE. All donations go directly to researching a cure to cancers and to support cancer patients.

I REQUEST please a donation from you if you see this post. The US has slashed federal funding for medical reaearch. That means that while our big contribution that can get a study started, outside funds are CRITICAL to get these studies that show statistical promise of successful therapies and cures to get to the trial stage. Every penny helps.

PLEASE push the button on my IG page to donate to City of Hope. We ride in honor of those who have passed and in support of the survivors of cancer. We WILL find a cure during my lifetime. I look at this picture from 5 days ago and notice one thing… my JACKET!!!! Yes it was my first mountain bike ride since 2013. That was awesome… yes I almost ATE IT going down “the wall” - pile of rocks built to keep in lava flows (doesn’t work) - but I saved it like a bike handling champion. ….But the POINT IS in Iceland, it’s 65° and sunny. Everywhere else, it’s 4,000°F+. I miss you Iceland!!! You crazy island. You lovely, breezy, temperate, glacier filled, volcano, crazy place. I’ll be back. With my jacket and helmet. by @hofbeezy

Day 2 in Iceland. Walked 2 miles to a volcano to drop inside of it. The only volcano on earth people can enter IRL. More fun than @gozwift ! Also there was a total eclipse today . Then we went to @skylagooniceland but no phones allowed and then sushi at FISH MRKT and now we are so tired. Shhh shhh shh. taken in Inside the Volcano - Iceland by @hofbeezy

Look at this fresh face from Mile zero. We had no idea what was in store for us. (Swipe right).

Well… Unfortunately…. I just checked, and cancer is not cured yet. My friends and contemporaries and colleagues are facing it right now! I will be posting about those for whom I am riding in the run up to FIREFLIES WEST - THIS SEPTEMBER 23-28, 2026.

The donation link is already in my bio. The @fireflieswest tour is in support of @cityofhope - every year the fireflies west tour strives to raise over $600,000 to donate directly toward the City of Hope’s clinical trials and research-physician treatment of cancer patients.

In my observation, donations to the WEST tour have the most direct impact on patient outcomes. If the tangible impact on human lives is a major factor you consider when making charitable donations, donating to City of Hope through Fireflies West actually saves lives. That is why I contribute as much of my own funds to Fireflies West that I can afford and ask that you just donate any amount that you feel good about.

I know it is like “Claire stop asking for money to ride your bike on social media! Change the station.” NO! MORE PEOPLE MY AGE KEEP GETTING CANCER. WHAT THE ABSOLUTE F IS UP WITH THAT!?!?!?!?!?
