Missing the last woman who actually gave a damn about me. She’s a great woman and that’s hard to find in this lying drying world. Don’t let go of what’s important not matter whatever hell you might be struggling with. by @hoganpickles

Why does this exist? Why have you come into existence? We don’t know the answers to these questions on a level beyond biology. This was given to me so I made it exist to the best of my abilities. I have always loved watercolor. I wouldn’t say I’m a master, but I enjoy it like a fifth grader trying to get approval from his art teacher. Anyway hope it inspires someone. Cheers my fellow artists. P.S. don’t create art because it could possibly make you money. Do it for you. The rest of it is just side effects. #SurrealArt #WatercolorPainting #WhimsicalArt #WinterLandscape #AppleArt by @hoganpickles

Another night in Alcatraz, kids. Sometimes the world beats you to the ground and leaves you wondering how you’ll ever rise again. Then the sky catches fire, the sun melts into the horizon, and for one quiet moment, you remember. Life is still beautiful and still worth living. Even Alcatraz has a view of the sunset. Keep looking toward the light. #photography #photo #naturephotography #art #sunset by @hoganpickles

After the Flood

I’m not exactly sure where or why this idea came into my mind. It arrived like all the others: you wake up staring at the ceiling, or you’re sitting in front of the television, and suddenly—here it comes. Larger than life and ready for you to present it to the world.

I don’t paint because I want to make money. I paint because the image wants to become concrete.

The Floating Pig

I came up with this painting nearly twenty years ago. I was newly married, raising a toddler, and dreaming of writing and illustrating books for my son to read.

I wasn’t searching for money or notoriety. I simply wanted to create. Imagination was the firing pin it set everything in motion.

Now that I’m older, I feel as though the rest of the world might finally want to see what it was like to have a family, to create for them, and to be completely in love with it all.

Frog in the throat in the year 2026 what’s the sound of the artist mind ringing in the day it is called upon to create a creation for everyone to hate or enjoy. five.
