We can’t wait to see you in Yarmouth this Saturday. All season long, @hogfishme artists in residence work, play, and renew together, forming lasting bonds with one another, Maine, and our communities. For the third year in a row, the program culminates at @317main with The Regenerative Seed Project—an open, collaborative exercise in the creative process where the artists share works in progress and invite the audience in to inform their projects and process. It’s a beautiful evening and community moment, and we hope to see you there!

Every Hogfish gathering seems to find its way to the dance floor. ✨ By the end of the evening, what was witnessed, felt, and shared has nowhere else to go but into movement. A restorative ending, a full heart, and a room alive with music. Thank you for bringing yourselves so wholeheartedly. Theres nothing quite like moving together and finding joy in shared rhythm. Until next time. 💛

Looking back on this past weekend with immense gratitude. 🤍

Thank you to everyone who joined us, performed, volunteered, supported, and helped create such a meaningful experience. There is something truly special about gathering together through art, and we’re so grateful to share these moments with our community. A special thank you to @meredithbrockingtonphotography for the lovely photos captured from the performances 📸

As we reflect on a beautiful weekend celebrating Wholly Unwinding, we’re also looking ahead to one final gathering this summer: The Regenerative Arts Seed Project.

Wholly Unwinding began as a Seed Project itself—an idea nurtured through this residency before growing into the performance we were so grateful to share with our community this past weekend. Now, we invite you to witness the next chapter as this season’s artists-in-residence share the personal projects they’ve been cultivating here at Hogfish. August 8th at 5pm. We’d love to have you join us as we close out the season together.

Tickets are available now through the link in our bio. 🌱

It’s been such a pleasure to see the beautiful designs for @hogfishme come to life on stage 🤍✨ “Wholly Unwinding: The Canticle of Cerebral Palsy” written by Hailey McAvoy @hailey_rose17 is showing at @haloatthepoint this week!

We can’t wait for you to see these garments come to life with the talents of this crew on stage these next few days 🤍✨ Tickets are available on @hogfishme ‘s website!

“We all have scars. Some seen, others hidden. Each tells a story or is a marker of an experience that, although painful, became part of who we are. What happens though when we don’t just look at the scars but try to learn and grow through them—to honor how they helped us step into the people we are today? In Wholly Unwinding creator Hailey McAvoy lets her scars of growing up with Cerebral Palsy sing, and take us on her journey of healing and acceptance. With inspiration from an amalgamation of artists like Joni Mitchell, the Jackson Five, Hildegard von Bingen and The Chicks to name a few, this multi-genre work defies categorization as does a true definition of the healing process. Part musical, part folk concert, part old-time roof-raising spirituals with stories around the campfire, Wholly Unwinding invites us to come home to our bodies by singing the songs of our scars.”

✨PREMIERE NIGHT✨

Before we collectively settled into the transformative experience of Wholly Unwinding, we first gathered in the practice of connection.

The pre-show experience offered space to slow down, meet one another, and arrive with intention. Through shared conversation, gentle presence, and circle singing led by Melisa, strangers became neighbors. We opened our hearts to deeper listening and shared belonging.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in this beautiful unwinding. And a very special thank you to @doublehouseartscollective for the exceptional exhibit.

Two more chances to catch Wholly Unwinding before it heads to NYC in the fall! Join us Friday and Saturday 🤍
