Do this now to cut your tax bill in half if you’re an entrepreneur and make $200K+

1. Turn your LLC to an S-Corp or create an S-Corp immediately
2. Make sure you’re deducting your home office with an accountability plan and Augusta rule.
3. Set aside some of your profits for your business’s retirement account
4. If you’re real estate professional buy a rental property, cost segregate it, and depreciate on your taxes. If you have an an unemployed spouse make them the real estate professional.
5. My least favorite but if you have to larp, buy a heavy vehicle that weighs 6,000 lbs or more for a big write-off

How to keep your LLC anonymous in California in 3 steps

Disclaimer: this does nothing for your personal taxes but this does make it harder for people to sue or go after your assets.

1. Hire a registered agent.
2. Open a LLC in the state of Wyoming—do not include your name. You will use your registered agent’s information
3. Open your California LLC- List your Wyoming LLC as the member

On average you will be spending a minimum of $1000 annually in LLC and admin fees but for some of you this is pocket change for big value.

The Truth about forming an S-Corp
Is that you probably don’t need one.

Despite social media “tax strategists” that tell you $60K in profit is a good starting point to do an s-corp that is categorically false.

When should you form an S-Corp? Well if you can answer yes to all these four questions then you should strongly consider it.

Think of this acronym IDEA:

I- Income: Am I making consistent annual income?
D- Deductions: Are my business deductions maximized?
E-Employee: Can you pay yourself as an employee?
A-Admin Costs: do the admin costs outweigh the benefit?
