Humiliation ritual pending ⏳😆

Tomorrow I attempt the San Sebastián Half Marathon - a race which I thought would be a delightful plod amongst a weekend of food and drink.

But turns out THERE’S A 2 HOUR 30 MIN CUT OFF 😆

Now before anyone asks how a race could spring this on anyone - they absolutely DID NOT. But all the info is in Spanish and I obviously just missed it and was only alerted to the fact very recently - many weeks into a training plan that was more about endurance than speed. HA HA HA

There is a chance I’ll be fine - my training plan was for 2:30 (by total chance) but I’ve only run at that pace for 3km at most. IS THAT HOW TRAINING PLANS ARE SUPPOSED TO WORK?! 😆

There’s a chance it will be fine - but also a chance it might now. Either way I’m feeling STRESSED!

🇬🇷 And Rhodes has jumped to number three, with searches up 161% while average prices have actually fallen by more than 6%. 
So if you’re stuck on where to go next, it’s a pretty handy place to start!

Are the easyJet baggage sizers ACTUALLY the size they claim they are?!! 👀

✈️ SO WHAT’S THIS ABOUT? ✈️

easyJet claims that their small cabin bag size is 45x36x20cm - so obviously we headed to the airport with measuring tape in hand to test this ourselves, by measuring their baggage sizers. Have they been lying to us?!! 🤯

But the answer is... nope. The baggage sizers are BANG ON what they say online! Great news if you’ve got a bag that you’ve measured and fits perfectly.

When your gate goes from open to closed in 2 minutes 🙈

Amidst all the delays and cancellations after the air traffic control issue, I think it’s fair to say that BA were having a bad day 😆

But I’m very happy to say we DID make it on the plane and we are now in… THESSALONIKI!!! 🇬🇷

I cannot WAIT for the food if you want to drop any recommendations. Gotta get my stomach lined properly before celebrating Shu and Panos’ Greek wedding at the weekend 😆 by @holidayexpert

Has our flight been impacted by today’s air traffic control issue? 🙈

And comment MORE if you want to be sent my guides on what your rights are if your flight has been delayed or cancelled.

The main takeaways are:

⚠️ IT DOES NOT MATTER THAT THIS IS NOT YOUR AIRLINES FAULT ⚠️

That simply means that you probably won’t be able to claim compensation.

However your airline still has a duty to care for you, and get you to your final destination.

This is all protected under the Air Passenger Rights Regulations (UK 261) and if your flight is cancelled (and is operating under UK law), your airline has to offer you the choice of:

✈️ A refund
✈️ An alternative way to get you to your destination

And here’s the really important point: You do not have to accept the replacement flight they offer and the alternative way does not need to be with them. It can be with a competitor. It can even be a train if that’s the best possible option!!

I have heard of so many times airlines saying ‘we can only book you on our flights’ and it’s SIMPLY NOT TRUE. It’s all covered in the Air Passenger Rights Regulations.

This is one of my most FAVE tourist attractions ever! 🐘

🇫🇷 Nantes, France

Meet the Grand Éléphant in Nantes, France, a 12-metre-high mechanical elephant that walks around, sprays water from its trunk and carries you around for roughly 30 minutes!

And yes… after watching everyone else climb on, we obviously had to have a go 😂

The best bit? Watching all the kids follow it around because they KNOW they’re about to get soaked 😂💦

But the elephant is just one part of Les Machines de l’île. You can also explore the Galerie des Machines and ride the incredible Carrousel des Mondes Marins, so you could easily spend a few hours here.

I was on @thismorning on Monday chatting about solo trips (you can watch it back on @itvxofficial and my first segment is also uploaded on their YouTube) and I came across this mega solo deal 💪

🚨 BTW - The dates of this deal has now been snapped up! 🚨

BUT I wanted to show you that it is possible to get an all-inclusive deal for a solo traveller without having to pay for two people

As I said above, those dates have been snapped up for the solo deal now and you can only book it as 2 adults for £663 per person.

BUT

If you search the same deal for 23rd Sep for one person, using the same code, you can still bag it for £725.

Not as good a deal, but still incredibly decent for what you get - and without that pesky single tax!!
