I’ve read A LOT of women’s health books over the years and these are just a few that I’ve really enjoyed and found helpful.

There are definitely more great books out there (I’ve read some of them), but I had to cut this list down a little bit or we’d be here all day.

If you’re interested in understanding your body, your cycle, hormones, fertility, or women’s health in general, these are a few books to start with

And if there are any other books you’d recommend, pop them in the comments

when I was first diagnosed, I found these books incredibly helpful!

Excellent books for anyone with PCOS

Great for understanding your cycle and improving it

I’m not actually doing a ton of things differently right now just because I want kids someday.

Most of the things in this list are things I’ve slowly incorporated into my everyday life over the years. They just also happen to also support my reproductive health and give me a better foundation for when I am ready to try to conceive.

I think that’s the part of “fertility prep” that often gets missed.

Fertility prep isn’t changing your life for 3 months and hoping for the best. It’s ongoing lifestyle changes that you should stick with even after you’ve conceived.

Learning how my body works, understanding my cycle, nourishing myself well, moving my body, taking care of my pelvic health, paying attention to my overall health, and knowing what my baseline is isn’t just prepping for fertility, it’s living a healthy lifestyle that is supporting me.

None of this guarantees an easy time getting pregnant someday. But I’d rather spend the years before trying to conceive building a foundation for my health than waiting until I’m ready for a baby and trying to change everything all at once.

So this series is less of everything I’m doing to prep for pregnancy and more things I’ve been doing for years to 1. Support my body and health 2. Support my future fertility

Fertility prep isn’t a 12 step checklist. It’s about making sure your body is healthy while you’re pregnant and BEYOND.

Anyways!! Thanks for coming to my ted talk! 🎤 by @holisticaubs

I am so sick of these articles! Maybe we should be asking why so many young women are sick instead of making comments about them wanting attention or ask why they’re using mobility aids?

And truly, I doubt the majority of people that use a mobility aid or post about their disability are seeking attention. We were actually trying to raise awareness! by @holisticaubs

Having a disability is actually so cool!

I love being in pain all the time.

I love having tape all over my joints.

I love random rashes.

I love being bed bound for weeks on end.

I love being in my 20s and using a cane.

I love being a shell of the person I once was.

I love it so much!!

In reality, I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy! Having a chronic illness/disability is not cool, it’s not fun, it’s not a good time.

Stop writing dumb articles about a life I never chose to live, but one I did choose to post about. by @holisticaubs

when I started thinking of ideas for my bridesmaid proposal baskets, I realized that all of the ones I saw were basically the same and not a single one was low tox or crunchy. I decided to go off script and aim for low tox/crunchy gifts that were also useful.

I stocked my baskets with Ghia, Primally Pure tinted lip balm, matching earrings, beeswax candles, & pasta. I used thrifted baskets and cute glasses along with super cute ribbons! I also used a variety of dress swatches from 3 different companies as all my girls are wearing different colors and dresses.

I got a lot of the items from Thrive Market, which made my life super easy! All the gals loved their baskets and I simply cannot wait to have them stand by my side in October 2027!

Absolutely loving @drinkthecycle during my luteal and menstrual phases!

Both contain a magical ingredient called sea buckthorn. Sea buckthorn is rich in omega 7, which you don’t hear about much, but is still very important. It also contains smaller amounts of other fatty acids. It’s rich in carotenoids, vitamin E, vitamin C, and polyphenols, supporting normal antioxidant defenses. ALSO, it may support healthy inflammatory pathways, which is big for period discomfort and those of us that suffer from chronic inflammation.

Next time your period comes around, I highly recommend reaching for a drink from The Cycle Drink! by @holisticaubs

Women’s health isn’t just about workouts and nutrition. Stress, recovery, sleep and nervous-system regulation matter too.
Sauna can be a simple recovery ritual that fits into a busy routine.

The benefits of sauna can change throughout your menstrual cycle too.

I personally love a sauna during the menstrual phase. It’s like a heating pad on my whole body and it is helping regulate my nervous system and increase circulation.

During the follicular phase, your energy begins to come back! Thank God, am I right ladies? As your energy starts coming back, sauna can complement your movement and recovery routine.

Around ovulation, estrogen is high and then begins changing, while body temperature hasn’t yet reached the higher post-ovulation baseline associated with progesterone.

Sauna can provide a controlled cardiovascular/heat stimulus, but hydration becomes especially important during this phase.

So if you’re sauna-ing during ovulation, make sure to keep hydrated!

After ovulation, progesterone rises and basal body temperature increases.
So you’re already running slightly warmer.

During the luteal phase, hopping in the sauna may still provide benefits like:

• Relaxation
• Cardiovascular conditioning
• Muscle relaxation
• Recovery
• Sleep support

But you may need to modify your sauna session to support your body best. That may mean, shorter session, lower heat if needed, more hydration, or decreasing your time in the sauna. The goal isn’t to tolerate as much heat as possible. The goal is to give your body a stimulus it can recover from.

there isn’t strong evidence that sauna needs to be prescribed differently for each menstrual phase. The phase-specific approach is more about understanding your changing physiology and adjusting based on how you feel.

once you start learning what food dyes, makeup, citric acid, artificial and natural flavors are made of

and when you start learning about who sells all the seeds in this country

and when you find out what they do to our food supply in this country

and when you discover what chemicals they put in our drinking water

and when you think about microplastics and endocrine disrupters

you’ll change your whole life and you’ll never go back by @holisticaubs

Don’t worry, my toilet is very clean.

Okay but in all seriousness, I have endometriosis and a year ago I had endo lesions removed from my colon so the bathroom is a place I spend a lot of time.

There are a few items that make using the bathroom easier, whether it’s while using the toilet, showering, or cleaning it.

First and foremost, you need a bidet. Literally a life changer! You need one with warm water and a seat warmer. Trust.

You may also find it beneficial to get a @squattypotty , @thedorica , @takeletloose or @seed

Another thing you need is a motorized scrub brush with a LONG handle!

Now, if you need links to these items just comment BATHROOM and I’ll send you the links 🚽 by @holisticaubs

bruh what is happening? I’m about to buy a cow from a local farm because this shiz is getting old.

Real talk though, the food supply in this country is hijacked. Whether it’s horse meat, imported beef from undisclosed countries, plastic cookies, lab grown meat and milk, diarrhea lettuce, etc. I just can’t take it anymore.

I’m about to start a homestead, who’s with me? by @holisticaubs
