🟠The Importance of Hip Mobility in Maintaining Performance and Longevity

🔻The hips are one of the largest and most important joints in the body. They provide support for our upper body and allow us to walk, run and perform complex movements. Unfortunately, many of us have tight hips, which can lead to lower back pain, hip instability, and poor athletic performance.

🔻Poor hip mobility means that we have a limited range of motion and can cause pain and discomfort. Maintaining good hip mobility can help us to avoid these issues. To improve hip mobility, we need to identify the areas of tightness around the hip muscles. This includes the glutes, hip flexors, abductors, and adductors.

🔻The gluteus muscles are also important in improving hip mobility. These muscles are responsible for providing stability and power to the hip joint. If we have weak gluteus muscles or poor activation patterns, we can experience pain and discomfort in the hips and lower back.

Talent gets you started. Work makes you great. 🌊

I’ve known Sophia @sophiamedina since she was 7. We’ve trained together on and off since she was 15, and today marks 12 months of full-time work together.

I’m so proud of the work she’s put in: the consistency, the discipline, the focus, showing up even when it’s hard. She’s grown stronger in her body, and she’s grown just as much in her mindset, her style and her performance in the water.

This is only the beginning. Bring on the next 12 months. 🔥 by @holisticprohealth

What the mat teaches doesn’t stay on the mat.

Jiu-jitsu taught me that pressure is a teacher. When you’re pinned, you learn to breathe, stay calm and look for the next small opening. Life and business work the same way.

In business and work:
🥋 A deal falls through, a client walks away, a plan collapses. That’s just a bad position. Don’t panic. Get technical, protect yourself, and work your way out one move at a time.
🧠 Your ego will cost you more than any opponent. Ask questions, admit mistakes, keep learning. The people who stop learning stop growing.
🔥 Consistency beats talent. Nobody gets a black belt in one heroic session. It’s years of showing up. Your career and your business are built the same way.
🤝 Respect everyone you train with. The white belt next to you today could be your teacher tomorrow.

For the next generation:
Our kids don’t learn from what we say. They learn from what they watch us do.

When they see us show up tired, lose, and come back the next day, they learn resilience. When they see us stay calm under pressure, they learn control. When they see us still learning at 40, 50, 60, they learn that growth never ends.

That’s the real black belt: passing it on. A teacher only succeeds when their students go further than they did.

So ask yourself: what are you teaching the people watching you? 👇 by @holisticprohealth
