How cool is it that my best friends also love Bruno Mars and also love celebrating my birthday with me 10 months later! The best 24 hour trip ever!! I don’t get a ton of time without littles to do adult things so extra grateful when I do and love spending it with my best friends. I’m beyond thankful for these 3. Today we moved. Holli and the little, not the Uncles!
. In 108 fucking degree heat, after one of the most stressful two weeks ever.

The last 18 months in San Diego have been beautiful, terrifying, messy, healing and fucking hard. I’ve questioned myself more times than I can count. I’ve wanted to give up and run back to what was familiar.

But we stayed.

And the biggest reason we could was my brothers.

For 18 months, the uncles gave us a safe, stable, FUN home while I figured out how to build one of our own. They let a whole lot of estrogen invade their space, routines, sanity and definitely their power bill.

They taught my girls everything from plants and air filters to boundaries, how to make a manhattan, being good neighbors, showing up for people and the importance of eating dinner together.

And they taught me something even harder: how to accept help.

I don’t say this lightly my brothers saved me. They gave me enough stability to stay when running back to Idaho felt easier.

Today we left their home and moved into ours.

My heart has been in San Diego from the beginning.

Now my roots are too.

There is no version of this story where we get here without you two.

You didn’t just help us move to San Diego.

You helped us stay.

And I’ll spend the rest of my fucking life grateful for that. 🤍 by @holli.brinkerhoff

Yesterday was the first day of 4th grade for Liliyn and 2nd grade for Oaklee. 🤍 And somehow they both look WAY too grown up.

Of course Ashtyn was there for drop-off because she has never missed a first day of school for her little sisters. Truly the best big sister and one of my favorite traditions with my girls.

I’m not mad summer is over because this mamma is READY for a routine again 😂 but I’ll definitely miss the freedom, slow mornings, pool days and all the extra time together.

Time really is a theif!

Here’s to 4th + 2nd grade and another year of watching these girls become exactly who they’re meant to be. And im really hoping its not snobby tweens 🤍 by @holli.brinkerhoff

Happy 7th Birthday to my lemon baby.

Seven years ago, during one of the hardest seasons of my life, the universe handed me something I never knew I needed.

An Oaklee.

I’ve always called you my lemon baby because when life handed me lemons… somehow it gave me you as the sweetest reward.

Although, if we’re being honest… you’re not just sweet. 😏

You’re sweet and sour.
Spicy as hell.
Fiery.
Passionate.
A Cancer through and through.

You feel everything so deeply. You love with your whole heart. You laugh the loudest, cry the hardest, and somehow always know when someone around you needs an extra hug. You can read the energy in a room before most adults can, and your heart instinctively wants to make people feel loved.

You are unbelievably smart, endlessly curious, fiercely independent, and kind in ways that make me stop and watch in awe.

You challenge me.
You surprise me.
You keep me laughing every single day.

You have a fire inside of you that I hope this world never dims. I hope you always trust your intuition, embrace your beautiful heart, and never let anyone convince you to make yourself smaller. The world needs your passion, your kindness, your courage, and your light exactly as they are.

Watching you grow into exactly who you were meant to be has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

Transition days are some of our hardest days. Going from one home to the other especially when they are both run very different isn’t an easy task. Their nervous systems are shot. They’ve been on high frequency for days and now they are home where they can let go. It’s rough on all of us. Instead of going straight home we have a new transition tradition. You’ve heard the term touch grass, well in our case we go touch sand. If I’ve learned anything over the years of split homes is to “touch the fuckin grass”. Happy to have the babes home! by @holli.brinkerhoff
