The last four months I stepped away from corporate life.

I know that’s a privilege. And I also know I worked damn hard to make it possible.

There have been many lessons (as hoped) but a few have really landed.

———

➰ I’m genuinely proud of myself.

Not just for stepping away, but for sitting with the fear underneath it.

The fear of not earning. The fear of losing identity. The fear of not being “productive.”

So much of who we think we are is tied to what we do. Time out showed me how much of me was wrapped up in performance.

I have more clarity now - on my boundaries, my purpose, and what actually matters to me.

➰ Insight is defs not linear. And it’s rarely aesthetic.

It didn’t arrive in perfect meditations. It came while repainting our walls. Burning the requested sweet potato ‘chippies’ for the third time in a week. Creating gifts for my sisters. Swimming in the ocean. Pushing my daughter on the tree swing in our garden.

When the noise turned down, I could actually hear myself.

➰ It takes time to come back into the body.

Oh, the waves! First energy. Then exhaustion. Then both. At times it worried me.

My nervous system was far more cooked than I realised.

Slowly, things recalibrated.

Now I feel more vital, more creative, more steady in who I am and what I stand for.

And that brings me to this piece….

NO PROJECTING.
NO PROVING.
HIDING OR DEFENDING.

This is a reminder to myself. ✨

I cannot control other people - their beliefs, reactions, behaviour or journey… Even when my intentions are born from deep care.

It isn’t my job to fix or reshape anyone.

It isn’t my job to minimise myself to make others comfortable.

But it is my responsibility to choose how I show up.

That is sovereignty to me.
A perpetual ‘Work In Progress’.
