You came to me with open wounds 🩸🦢 Our brand new single “Open Wounds” is out now! When we started writing this song, we wanted to go back to our roots and tap into the raw, painful aggression that shaped the Homewrecker and Still Life EPs. We weren’t trying to recreate those records or live in the past. We just wanted to reconnect with the part of Hollow Front that was blunt, heavy, and unafraid to let pain sound ugly, while bringing everything we’ve learned since then into it. Open Wounds is about what happens when someone else’s unresolved pain becomes your own. It’s about the anger, shame, and damage passed down when what you thought was love turns out to be control. It’s also about facing the aftermath, learning to pick up the pieces, and trying to rebuild yourself from what’s left behind. There isn’t a positive spin or a clean ending to it. Sometimes all you can do is finally call the pain what it is. Watch the official lyric video, stream the song, and preorder our new album No Love Without Despair, out December 11. Have you heard it yet? Let us know what you think below. Links in bio. Art by: @leealbrecht by @hollowfront

We wrote the first demo for “So Long to Yesterday” almost two years ago, only a few months after Dakota’s stroke. At the time, we didn’t know if he would ever return to Hollow Front or if we were even going to be a band for much longer. We just wanted to have fun and make music with our friend again. A year after we wrote that demo, Dakota officially rejoined Hollow Front and we finished it. Hearing his voice back in the band and watching him continue to recover made the song feel even more special. It felt triumphant. So when it came time to choose the track we wanted to lead with, starting here felt right. This isn’t the heaviest song we have coming, but it shines a spotlight on Dakota’s voice, his recovery, and everything his return means to us. This song captures the beginning of that journey, before any of us knew where it was going. Now we finally get to release it with Dakota officially back in the band. We couldn’t think of a better way to welcome him home than by letting his voice and his story take center stage. “So Long to Yesterday” is yours at midnight. 🖼️: @leealbrecht by @hollowfront
