How to become #1 in the world for LinkedIn growth:
[You’re not gonna like it.]

I got a DM: “Did you know you’re ranked #1 in the world for LinkedIn growth by Favikon?”

You guys already know the answer.
I had no idea.

First, what does that ranking mean?
[Don’t worry - I Googled it.]

Favikon (https://www.linkedin.com/company/favikon/) judges + likes my:
1. Credibility [I don’t use AI]
2. Organic reach [I don’t use pods]
3. “Buzz rate” [My posts start conversations]
4. Growth [Growing consistently, 1 post at a time]

How did I do it?
Well.

1. I don’t use AI to write posts
2. I have a detailed comment strategy
3. I have a content system that is sustainable
4. I don’t go viral - I plod along steadily and surely

I thought about not sharing this, because it kinda feels like LinkedIn-lebrity behavior.

But then you’d miss these messages:
➜ You don’t need to go viral
➜ You don’t need 100K followers
➜ You don’t need to make LinkedIn your job [I have a full time job off LinkedIn ghostwriting books]

You need discipline.
You need systems.
And a little wild self-belief.

📌 What’s the most surprising news you’ve gotten lately?

2 most common mistakes I see on LinkedIn:

1. Overthinking so you don’t post [consistently or at all]
2. Taking it so personally that you get frustrated and give up

Here’s a mindset that addresses both:
LinkedIn can be a tool in your business.
Or it can be a soul vacuum that makes you hate it.
And the beauty of life is that you get to choose which is true for you.

I care a lot about what people think.
This is a natural wiring that I don’t prefer.

[I find that most people who scream otherwise aren’t being honest. Not with themselves, at least.]

But you can can care without giving up control.
Yeah, it causes some anxiety and emotional friction.
But being a grown up means dealing with a bit of that.

It’s called growth, friends.
And it only comes with reps.

I give LinkedIn a lot of my time.
But I refuse to give it my self-worth.
So I show up, try to help, then go about my life.

The only way to get over is to get over it.
Click the X, don’t obsess, and it will get easier.

If the thumbnail of this video isn’t proof that I’ve come a long way, I don’t know what is. Yikes.

If you've been telling yourself you "should probably post more on LinkedIn," listen to this one.

@hollyfromlinkedin has a much simpler approach to building a presence... and it doesn't involve posting every day or spending hours glued to your screen. 📲 ❌

She and Ryan get into what actually works, what doesn't and how small business owners can make LinkedIn work for them.

I failed at LinkedIn twice.

2021: Showed up, burned out, quit.
2022: Came back, quit again.
2023: Decided I had to figure it out.

Here’s what I’d tell someone starting today:
Don’t start by posting.
Start by commenting.

Posting on day one is a big ask.
You’ll find 35 reasons to put it off.
There’s no good excuse not to leave a comment.

And while you’re in there?
Stay out of your feed.

The feed is where people get frustrated, get grossed out, and decide LinkedIn isn’t for them.

Instead, find 1-2 voices in your industry and shop their comment sections.

The people commenting on their posts are almost always the people you want to get in front of.

And don’t spend all day here. This is key.
Start by devoting 20 minutes, same time, same day.
Then you click the X and go do your day job.

I sat down with Ryan Zink, CFE on The Sidekick Life and went a lot deeper.

We chat:
1. The Golden Hour
2. The 6 assets of a post that performs
3. Where AI belongs in your writing [and where it doesn’t]

4 post topics to cycle through:

If you never know what to post, stop guessing.

Cycle through 4 types:

1. Educational.
How I did something, how to do something, a strong opinion.

2. Social proof.
A client win—use real numbers when you can.

3. Stories.
The bad hire, the embarrassing moment. Wrap it in value or humor.

4. Offer.
Actually ask for the sale.

I don’t hit a perfect cycle.
But once a week, I hit all 4 at least once.

How I tripled my income in 5 years using LinkedIn:

I hate hooks like this, by the way.
But here we are, because it’s true.
In 2025, I tripled my income using LinkedIn.
In 2026, I expect that number to increase.
[I don’t count my chickens OR my money too early.]

1. Created systems.
You’re probably not going to do this.
Instead, you’ll go through spurts of activity.
But systems are a REQUIREMENT to scale.

2. Took the emotion out of it.
Check your ego at the keyboard.
Along with your expectations [for a while].
Be a robot. Crank it out. Don’t give up.

3. Stopped chasing highs.
You had a story go viral.
But your educational post flopped.
So now you’re just posting stories.
But the DMs aren’t cranking out leads.
You need a comprehensive approach.
Not every post’s job is the same.

4. I paid for help.
I hired experts 2-3 steps ahead of me.
I am CHEAP. But there comes a time when $ takes $.

5. I asked the same question every day:
Who can I help today that isn’t me?
If you become helpful every day, you’re a search-bar name.
Not relying on the algorithm to put you in someone’s feed.

At lunch today my husband said:
“I wish LinkedIn could see hard you try.”

Because I still do.
5 years later, this isn’t on autopilot.
Is it much easier? Yup.
But it’s still work.

Become discoverable by AI with these 3 writing tips:

Google isn’t the only search engine giant in the game anymore.

ChatGPT hit 1 billion active users in March 2026.
The fastest any app has hit that particular milestone.
You don’t need to be a data analyst to see the trend.

More and more people are opting to get AI’s single response over navigating a page of links.

How do you become that single response?

By mastering GEO/AEO writing.
[GEO: Generative Engine Optimization]
[AEO: Answer Engine Optimization]

Here are 3 quick tips to increase your AI discoverability:

1. Get to the point quickly. AI skips content with a slow build-up. Put your best line at the top, then back it up.

2. Be incredibly specific. “A lot of founders struggle with” loses to “73% of founders struggle with.”

3. Write in the words people are using to search. What question are people asking? Use the answer as your hook. [I did that for this post.]

Good news:
These aren’t difficult suggestions.
Clear, specific writing that uses your audience’s language.

AI doesn’t have to big this big, scary obstacle.
You can leverage it for your brand + business.
If you don’t... I truly fear you’ll be left behind.

How to book a call on LinkedIn with 1 DM:

DMs are the actual worst.
They’re a toxic wasteland of effort.
[And pride, self-worth, self-AWARENESS.]

But there is an effective way to approach the right audience members.

This is a screenshot from my client.
Josh Luebker (https://www.linkedin.com/in/the-construction-cfo/) - a contractor CFO.
[Sharing with his permission, by the way.]
I help Josh with content + engagement.

Here’s the DM strategy:

1. Go to profile viewers.
2. Go to all filters.
3.  Filter for your ideal client.
4. Send them a DM like the one in the screenshot.
5. DO NOT DOUBLE DM. JUST BE PATIENT.

This strategy has secured 88% of my clients over the last 7 months.

If you aren’t DMing your profile viewers...
And you’re instead chasing profile ghosts...
Chances are you’re frustrated with LinkedIn.

Stop being frustrated.
Grab that low-hanging fruit.

1 post that raised my profile views by 292%:

I don’t go viral often.
Going viral is rarely my goal.
Sometimes, though, it is.

You gotta get in front of new people.
Going viral is an efficient way to do that.

I didn’t plan for last Monday’s post to become a banger, but it was.

It added:
➜ 2800 new profile views.
➜ 357 names to my email list.
➜ 127 new followers.

Here’s why it worked:

1. I gave away something people really wanted. For 24 hours, people got free access to my previously-recorded LinkedIn masterclass.

➜ No one wants an AI-generated PDF. Create something of value. Is there anything you’ve already done you could give away, even temporarily?

2. Text screenshot attachment. People are nosy [I am] and reading screenshots feels like spilled tea.

➜ Your attachments don’t have to be selfies. But you do need an attachment.

3. The hook was good, and I’m not a phenomenal hook-writer.

➜ Every hook has one job: Promise a pay off when you click “see more.”

4. The post gave people something helpful they could do TODAY.

➜ If every post you share is a client story wrapped in philosophy, you’re white noise. You have to be helpful to be remembered. [This sounds harsh. Sorry.]

I haven’t scaled LinkedIn™ through leaps and bounds. I’ve been here 5 years.

I’ve scaled it post-by-post, one day at a time, one conversation at a time.

But this post had momentum on it that I haven’t seen in a while.

You don’t have a content problem.
You have a conversion problem.

I spent 2 years on LinkedIn without a lead magnet.
It was one of the biggest mistakes I made.

Every day, people would like my content.

Comment.
DM me.
And then...
Nothing.

Because I had nowhere to send them besides a committed offer.

[Which is like proposing to someone on the first date. Kind of a big ask.]

I wanted to show people the value I could bring to their brand and business through post ghostwriting.

But I had to do it without asking them for a single dollar.

At first I thought a newsletter was enough.

But newsletters [even creative ones] are a dime-a-dozen.

Then, I listened to some people way smarter than I am, and I created my first *truly valuable* lead magnet: Templates for my top 100 posts.

Not a quiz.
Not an AI-created PDF.
Templates they could use TODAY.

That’s when the wheels started spinning here at The Story Spark.

Why?

Inbound leads convert at roughly 14–15%.

Cold outreach? Around 1.7%.

But when you build an ecosystem around your content [posts → lead magnet → email → offer], conversion rates can climb to around 22%.

A good lead magnet doesn’t just collect emails.
It pre-qualifies buyers.
It builds trust before the sales conversation.
It shows people you know your stuff.

And it can generate 3–5x more qualified leads than simply sending cold connection requests.

Content gets attention.
Lead magnets get opportunity.

If you’re posting consistently but your inbox is still quiet, I’d start there.

📌 What’s the best lead magnet you’ve ever seen someone give away?

PS: You may still have a content problem. If that’s you, DM me. I’ll ghostwrite the heck outta your posts. by @hollyfromlinkedin

“How do I get more profile views?”
You’re not gonna like the answer.

It’s hard work.

I’ve got 3 kids.
5 cats. [Yes, 5.]
And a husband.
[Not necessarily in order of priority.]

I have a full-time job off LinkedIn.
We are all equally busy, friends.

It comes down to what you want.
And what you’re willing to do for it.

Here are my priorities on LinkedIn right now:

1. Be online when your post goes live.
➜ I don’t care what the guru told you. It still matters.
➜ The days I’m not around, my post limps.

2. Leave 20 comments a day on brand-new profiles.
➜ Don’t overthink it. Scroll the comment section of someone you share an audience with.

3. Stop letting AI write for you.
➜ Write [or voice memo] first, then use AI. Then edit.
➜ Every time I sound more like me and less like a robot, my posts do better.

None of this is a hack.
It’s time. And then a little more time.

But hang around here long enough, and consistently enough, and it can change your business.

It’s tripled my income in 5 years.

📌 If LinkedIn could answer ONE question for you directly, what would you ask?

I used to take a gym class called Metcon.

Once a week the goal was simple:
As many reps as possible until failure.

I’d never been stronger in my life.

Comfortable reps keep you exactly where you are.

The AI post you ‘edited’ five words of.
The leadership take you’ve shared 100 times.

Very comfortable.
Zero growth.

I’ve been a writer for 20 years.

Every good sentence I’ve published sits on a pile of trash ones I had to write first.

“What if it flops?”
“What if my boss sees it?”
“What if people judge me?”

We’ve all thought those same thoughts.
You’re not the first to have them!
The difference is tolerance for risk.
Yours is either high or low.

People with a low risk tolerance don’t scale to the same level as those with a high risk tolerance.

Failure isn’t the price of progress.
It’s the only way to it.
