This pose means more to me than it probably looks. 🖤

I’ve battled back pain for most of my life because my spine is curved. For years, I worked around the pain while refusing to give up the things I love — hiking, tennis, rock climbing, and now hot yoga.

I kept moving.
I kept strengthening.
I kept trying.

And within my first six months of practicing hot yoga, something incredible happened:

I realized I had ZERO back pain.

That’s why this photo means so much to me.

And honestly, it made me think about job searching.

Sometimes we mistake “this is hard” for “this isn’t working.”

You apply.
You hear nothing.
You get rejected.
You start questioning yourself.

Don’t.

A rejection doesn’t automatically mean you weren’t qualified.

There can be an internal candidate, a hiring process that’s already far along, changing business needs, or countless things happening behind the scenes that you’ll never see.

You cannot let something you don’t know convince you that you’re not good enough.

If you’re going through a rough season right now — personally, professionally, or both:

Keep moving.
Keep applying.
Keep improving.
Keep going.

Hard doesn’t mean impossible.

Rejection doesn’t define you.

And a difficult season doesn’t mean your story is over. ❤️

Waiting for the job offer can be harder than the interview itself. 😅

You’ve interviewed.
You’ve followed up.
You’ve done everything you can.

Now comes the part nobody likes: waiting.

My advice? Don’t stop your job search because you think an offer is coming.

Keep interviewing.
Keep networking.
Keep your options open.

Until the offer is in writing, you don’t have an offer.

And if it’s taking longer than expected? Don’t automatically assume it’s bad news. Hiring decisions can get delayed for a hundred reasons that have nothing to do with you.

Control what you can. Let the rest play out.

Interview prep can get overwhelming—even when you’re a career coach. 😂

So before an interview, I actually stop preparing and do three things.

✓ First, I move my body.
For me, it’s hiking or hot yoga. It gets me out of my head and helps me reset.

✓ Second, I clean.
Yes, cleaning is one of my coping mechanisms. 😂 I put on slow music, tidy up, and somehow my brain starts to calm down too.

✓ Third, I cook.
Cooking is really meditative for me—and strangely, that’s when some of my best interview answers come to me.

Because I’m not forcing an answer. I’m giving my brain enough space to think.

Interview prep isn’t about memorizing the perfect response.

Know your stories. Know your value. Then give your brain some room to breathe.

Most people think job searching is about resumes.

It’s not.

It’s about relationships.

Some of the biggest opportunities in my career didn’t come from clicking “Apply.” They came from conversations, people who remembered me, and relationships built over time.

That’s why I tell my clients to stop thinking about networking as something you do when you’re unemployed.

Build relationships because you’re genuinely interested in people.

Support others.
Stay connected.
Celebrate their wins.
Show up consistently.

Whether it’s former coworkers, hiring managers, clients, or even the people you meet outside of work—you never know where one conversation might lead.

Careers are built on trust.

And trust is built through relationships.

Last week, I shared that I thought I had lost my love for hiking.

Turns out, I hadn’t lost the trail.

I just hadn’t reached the summit yet.

This week, I stood on top of Humphreys Peak—the tallest mountain in Arizona.

Not because the mountain got easier.

Because I kept going.

There’s something powerful about keeping a promise you made to yourself.

On to the next adventure.

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸❤️ by @hollylee.co

For a long time, I thought I had lost my love for hiking.

Turns out, I hadn’t lost the trail.
I had just lost myself.

This year has been about rebuilding—not just my career or my business, but my life. Finding people who bring peace instead of pressure. Choosing experiences that leave me energized instead of drained.

Sometimes growth isn’t about climbing faster. It’s about finally enjoying the climb.

One thing you’ll always get from me is this: I don’t teach from theory. I share the lessons I’m living in real time—the wins, the setbacks, and everything in between.

If you’re in a season where life feels heavy, keep going. The right people, the right opportunities, and the right path have a way of finding you when you stop forcing what no longer fits.

One step at a time. 🥾

I asked my community one question...

What's your biggest challenge right now? 👇

💼 Getting job interviews — 46%
🤖 Using AI effectively — 31%
📈 Career growth — 15%
🎤 Passing interviews — 8%

This really stood out to me.

For years, I've focused a lot on interview prep. But the reality is... you can't ace an interview if you can't get one.

The job market has changed.

Applying to hundreds of jobs isn't enough anymore. The way recruiters hire has evolved, and job seekers need to evolve too.

That's why I'm shifting my content to focus on:

✨ Landing more interviews
✨ Using AI the right way
✨ Resume & LinkedIn strategies that actually get noticed
✨ Recruiter insights from my years leading recruiting at Amazon

If you're job searching, I want to hear from you.

What's your biggest struggle right now? Drop it in the comments. 👇

Your answers will help shape my upcoming videos, tutorials, and live coaching sessions. 💙

Momentum isn’t built in giant leaps.

It’s built one step at a time.

Speaking of momentum…

My physical therapist told me this week that if I want my shoulder to heal, I need to avoid anything that puts pressure on it.

No planks.
No Downward Dog.
No headstands.
No weights.

I looked at her like she was crazy.

She looked at me like I was crazy.

What I did NOT tell her is that I’m training for a Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike this fall and working up to carrying a heavy backpack for hours.

I also somehow forgot to mention the rock climbing.

At that point, it felt best to stop volunteering information.

For now, we’re both pretending I’m a reasonable patient. 😂 by @hollylee.co

We’re often taught that growth comes from doing more.

More networking.
More applications.
More certifications.
More hustle.

But some of the most important decisions I’ve made came from creating space instead of filling it.

Space to reflect.
Space to listen.
Space to reconnect with what actually matters.

The right next step becomes much easier when you’re clear on who you are and where you want to go.

What’s one thing you’ve done this year that brought you more clarity?

A lot of people don’t actually hate their job.

They hate what their job is costing them.

Their energy.
Their health.
Their freedom.
Their presence with the people they love.

For years, I chased what I thought success looked like.

The title.
The paycheck.
The approval.

What I discovered is that you can have all of those things and still wake up unhappy.

At some point, you have to stop asking:

“What should I do next?”

And start asking:

“What kind of life am I trying to create?”

Because success without peace is just another trap.

Most people spend years chasing someone else’s definition of success.

Define your own.

What does peace look like for you? by @hollylee.co

Applications get you into the system.

Conversations get you hired.

Career gaps do not define your value.

In uncertain markets, staying active matters. Continue building skills, networking, volunteering, creating opportunities, and finding ways to adapt and grow. Small consistent actions compound over time.
