18 weeks ago, two eldest daughters began training to run their first marathon, the @akronmarathon because the numbers were cool. When the date was released earlier this year, we found matching Taylor-themed shirts and the rest was history.

Today called upon every ounce of mental and physical strength I had. Yet, I can’t do anything but smile, knowing we did this!

Training for this marathon has reminded me why I fell in love with running in the first place. Running is just as (if not more so) mental as it is physical. It has shown me that I can do anything I set my mind to.

I could not have done it without @harles1221

Dear Cross Country,

It’s always been hard to imagine my time with you coming to an end. You’ve pushed my limits every year for these last 6 years. Running has simultaneously been both one of the easiest and hardest things I have ever done. I say easy because I am blessed to be surrounded by so many incredible people who create such a fun, positive environment that I will miss dearly. They aren’t just my teammates, they are my family. They make the hard times easier. Running is hard because it has called upon every ounce of physical and mental strength that I have. Running has played a big role in shaping me into the person I am today. I’ve met so many incredible people and made forever friends over the years. I am eternally grateful for my coaches, old and new, for always believing in me. I strive to be as good of a coach as you all one day.
