We’ve all been there, right? We signed up, did the program, and when it didn’t work, we wondered if we were doing something wrong. Sometimes what we need isn’t another guru with a formula. It’s a place to talk honestly, ask questions, and hear ourselves think.

That’s part of existential health and spiritual direction: a professional, grounded companion who listens without trying to fix you or sell you certainty. Think “professional best friend,” with training, boundaries, and room for your own answers. by @holo.bone

Our purpose here is to return home and to love. #cosmicflow #spiritualdirection #existential by @holo.bone

We just finished our very first Soul Reset Retreat in the beautiful Sian Ka’an, Tulum, Mexico, and I’m still trying to take it all in.

When my friend first shared her dream with me last year and asked me to be part of it, I could never have imagined the magic we would create together. The healing, the courage, the tenderness, the alchemy of this week… it has moved me to tears more than once.

I can’t believe it’s over. My heart is so full, and so grateful for every person who trusted us and showed up with their whole, beautiful selves.

Gracias a la Vida. To the light and the shadows of life. Aho 🦅 by @holo.bone

The Tulum sun is healing me today. In the full radiance of the medicine of the ocean. The ocean is clear and beautiful today. I don’t want this week to end. #soulreset #retreattulum #mexico by @holo.bone

The amount of gratitude that I have for this beautiful container we are holding for this Soul Reset Retreat. Our hearts are so full to see people in their full radiance, to allow their pain and trauma to transform, to heal in community. There is truly nothing like this week. Our hearts are bursting open over and over and over. #soulreset #spiritualdirection #healingispossible by @holo.bone

Somewhere along the way, you may discover you were never just climbing toward the mountain. You were the mountain… carrying every version of yourself that got you here.

So, who do you want to be from here? What version of you are you ready to choose?

We’re walking into Soul Reset with full hearts, so grateful for every person who trusted us with a piece of their story. We’re here together… let’s begin. 🤍 by @holo.bone

What happens when your beliefs change, but the big questions stay?

At this lunch date with Britt Hartly @nononsensespirituality and existential therapist David Teachout, we explored meaning, religious deconstruction, and finding your footing when old answers no longer fit.

One takeaway that stayed with me: you can begin building a meaningful life while you’re still figuring out what you believe.

We talked about the grief of leaving a worldview, the difference between reflection and rumination, and how our values can help us choose a next step—even without certainty.

Swipe through for 8 takeaways from the conversation.

Which one speaks to where you are right now? Share the number below. 💬

Save this for a day when the questions feel loud, or send it to someone navigating a change in beliefs.

It’s true — whether you’re a skeptic or a seeker, the practice of using tarot as contemplation can help you feel more deeply connected.

I only have a few copies of the Existential Tarot edition left. You can purchase yours through the link, or I can save you a copy to grab next time you’re in the studio.

Happy eighth wedding anniversary to the man who, after eight years together, still said yes. 🥂@jrieke3

We’ve both carried our own jaded versions of love and ideas about what it was supposed to be. Thank you for loving me through all of it, for supporting my wild dreams, and for building a home and sanctuary with me. I’m grateful we get to keep learning what true love means, together. I love the life we’re making. by @holo.bone

ONE SPOT LEFT… and a partial scholarship is available.

It’s not too late to drop everything and join us in Tulum this Saturday for the Soul Reset Retreat. If something in you is saying yes, let’s make it happen. Message us today about the open spot and scholarship. #tulumretreat #soulreset #spiritualretreat by @holo.bone

Send this to the strongest woman you know — because the truth is, even the strongest women need a safe place to land. A place where they don’t have to explain everything, hold everything, fix everything, or be okay before they’re ready. Sometimes strength looks like finally letting yourself be held. Spiritual direction offers space to bring the grief, the questions, the hope, and the becoming. You don’t have to carry it all alone. Sometimes the story changes before we have words for it.

You thought life would look one way. And then something shifted — maybe quietly, maybe all at once, maybe in a way that left you grieving a version of life you were already attached to.

And grief can come in all kinds of boxes.

Sometimes it’s the job you gave 35 years to. Sometimes it’s the loss of someone you loved. Sometimes it’s being exiled from a church that once felt like home. Sometimes it’s the shame someone handed you after a divorce. Sometimes it’s looking around at the political system you’re living inside of and realizing you don’t know where you belong anymore.

I don’t think we talk enough about how brave it is to keep showing up when you’re still tender. When you’re still disappointed. When you’re trying to trust God, yourself, the timing, the unknown… and some days you’re barely holding the thread.

Spiritual direction is a place to bring the truth of where you are.

Not the polished version. Not the “I should be fine by now” version. The real one.

And spiritual direction isn’t only for “religious people.” It’s for anyone paying attention to their life and wondering what still feels sacred, honest, or alive.

The grief. The questions. The tiny signs of hope. The parts of you that are still becoming.

We don’t have to force meaning before it’s ready. We can simply listen for what is here now.

And that is enough for today.
