What does it mean to lead.
What does it mean to bridge a GAP.
What does it mean to engage.

This weekend was such a blessing to reunite the Carolinas and have some great conversations, but it became so much more than that.

This weekend taught me the true importance of perspectives. It taught me that being a leader is a step of humility into a place where you are constantly learning and growing. A step into a place where you always have an open ear or eye into what everyone else is seeing or feeling. Often times being a leader isn’t being the loudest voice. It’s being the quietest listener.

I couldn’t be more grateful to the facilitators for teaching us so much. Their dedication and hard work to our growth is a testament to their commitment to service.

I may be a bit late, but last week needed a bit to marinate.

Calhoun Falls C.O.L.T

How do we dodge and handle the obstacles of leadership? Communication and cooperation, using our voices to lift each other up and guide each other. Working together to evenly distribute our weights.

Woodland Officer Retreat

What do we carry? There are always 2 sides of leadership, the good and the bad. We carry things as leaders that lift up our team and are good for the group. However, we also carry things that weigh us down and hold the team back from success.

These have been 2 truly special groups that I can’t wait to watch impact not just their chapters but their communities as a whole. by @holtzclawjabe

1000 Words,

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. However, these are worth so much more. Countless tears (happy and sad), memories, laughter, and conversations. Small town South Carolina Jabe never thought he’d see D.C., Let alone step foot on capitol ground, but this week was a blessing.

It was life changing to hear hundreds of perspectives from not just all over the country but the world as well. How much of a blessing is it that we have a voice, one to be shared and recognized.

This week taught me countless things, but here’s 3 big ones.
1. All it takes is one word to make an impact
2. Life is too beautiful to be wasted on only seeing the pain.
3. No matter how hard of a time we’re going through, God can still use us to change someone’s life.

A boy steps into an agriculture class for the very first time. Inspired by opportunity but paralyzed by fear of judgment, he stands still. Then, with the encouragement of his advisor, he puts on the blue jacket for the first time and competes in a CDE.
Fast forward a few years.
A young man sits in a convention hall, listening to the retiring addresses. In that moment, he is reminded of a feeling he had lost long ago—the feeling of family, purpose, and belonging. Once again, inspired by opportunity but paralyzed by fear of change, he stands still.
Fast forward again.
A man sits in that same convention hall, but this time behind the curtain. As his name is called, a flood of memories rushes through his mind. He thinks of the boy who was afraid to take the first step, the young man who hesitated to embrace change, and the people who encouraged him along the way.
But as he taps the gavel for the first time, his perspective shifts.
No longer focused on fear, he sees only opportunity—the opportunity to serve.
South Carolina FFA, thank you for placing your trust in me. I am incredibly honored and humbled by this opportunity, and I cannot wait to serve this great state!!! by @holtzclawjabe

What. A. Week. I never thought my first time at FFA camp would be my last time as a chapter member and officer, but I couldn’t be more grateful for the time spent here and the memories made. STATE CONVENTION HERE WE COME!!

From the first time I ever set my heifer up to the 2 grand champions and 3rd place showmanship’s, showing has had an impact on me that has changed my life. Late nights at the barn and early mornings at the washrack, or slinging crap at eachother in the pouring rain has made friendships that will last for a lifetime. Thank the Lord for the opportunity to glorify you with such an amazing sport! #livestock #ffa by @holtzclawjabe
