What do "man-made" traditions even mean? Wasn't Christ the Son of Man? Was he not a man? Aren't we made in the image and likeness of God?

In this conversation, Cameron Dixon and I explored the themes of enchantment and de-enchantment in the context of Christianity. We discussed the significance of human experience in understanding reality, the role of myths and legends in conveying deeper truths, and the tension between materialism and spirituality in modern faith. Dixon argues that Christianity serves as a meta-narrative that encompasses all other narratives, emphasizing the beauty of Christ as a compelling force that draws people to faith. The discussion also touches on the connection between pagan stories and Christianity, the shift from atheism to neo-paganism, and the importance of living out one's faith in a meaningful way. In this conversation, Cameron Dixon discusses the evolving landscape of belief, particularly in relation to Christianity and alternative spiritual practices. He emphasizes the importance of re-enchantment and the need for Christians to embody their beliefs through rituals and practices. Dixon stated that Christianity is a mystery religion that offers profound truths and sacred mysteries, contrasting it with modern storytelling that often prioritizes entertainment over meaning. He advocates for the power of storytelling in evangelism, suggesting that beautiful narratives can draw people to the faith. The conversation also touches on the significance of embracing the weird and fantastical elements of Christianity, which can serve as a bridge for those exploring spirituality.
