Got our oval dining table a few weeks ago! It’s a world of a difference to be able to eat at a table versus hunching over our kitchen island.

Have I ordered dining chairs yet? Nope. Will I order dining chairs soon? Probably not.

This is what decision paralysis looks like at its finest😂

For the meantime we’re using our office chairs! taken in Austin, Texas by @homebyshepp

Peep the chopsticks!🥢

We finally retired my mismatched IKEA flatware from college for a nice C&B set. Waiting for the matching gadget tray to organize the rest! taken in Austin, Texas by @homebyshepp

Bed, made ✅

Our room is slowly coming together. Just need a dresser and a rug. Then of course de-texturing the ceiling and walls and ripping out the carpet… it’s a process.

Also who doesn’t let their dogs lay on their bed?? I know they dirty it up, but that’s what laundry machines are for right! They’re just too cute to say no! 🐶 taken in Austin, Texas by @homebyshepp

Got our media console last week!🥳

We don’t have a DVD player or any gaming consoles, but the extra storage is a nice touch. We store our board games, books, cameras, and arts & craft supplies here! Also everyone needs a place for their misc junk😌

Need to flatten and paint the walls before hiding that cord! Coming soon…

Let’s talk lighting!

Our home gets decent natural light in the mornings but after noon the sun hits the front of the house with minimal windows… which means the dining area will be dim for the meals we will use it for (lunch + dinner).

I’m thinking a chandelier versus pendant to increase lighting, but then again options #4 and #5 are too good to pass up…

Which one’s your favorite from #1-6?

Our home buying journey:

• 11/5 pre-approved

• 11/8 selected our rockstar realtor @andresbustatx who helped us get our first offer in (sight unseen) the same day > got rejected the next morning

• 12/17 set up a trip to Austin to see 4 homes > put in an offer on the last house we saw > got the offer accepted and went under contract!

• 1/21 closed and moved in!!

Here is a video of what we saw when we first toured😁

Changing up the direction of this insta… drumroll…

Home design!

Who would’ve guessed😂

Home design + styling has always been my favorite form of art. Back when Tumblr used to be a thing I would spend hours drooling over home interiors (now I do that on Pinterest, not much has changed…🤪)

Us buying our first home is the perfect opportunity to share my designs, inspos, dreams, and construction progress??😂

Here we go!✨ taken in Austin, Texas by @homebyshepp
