This Mother’s Day, I find myself reflecting on the incredible women who shaped not only who I am as a mother, but who I became as a nurse, caregiver, and leader. 🩷

My grandmothers taught me the beauty of slowing down to truly care for people, listening to stories, honoring dignity, and understanding that aging is a privilege deserving compassion and respect. My mom, also a nurse, carried those same values into our family every single day and later became a meaningful part of our Home Instead journey for many years. Watching her care for others with patience, strength, and love deeply influenced the heart behind our company. 💐

As a nurse and business owner, I’ve learned that caregiving and motherhood share so much in common: presence, sacrifice, resilience, and unconditional love. 💕

Today, we celebrate every mother, grandmother, daughter, caregiver, and Care Professional who shows up every day to love, nurture, comfort, advocate, and care for others. 🌸

To my mom and grandmothers thank you for inspiring the mission that became my life’s work. Your compassion lives on in every family we serve. 🙏🏻

This Nurses Appreciation Week, we want to recognize not only the incredible nurses in our healthcare community but also the nurses we are privileged to partner with every single day through Home Instead. 💚

At Home Instead, we work alongside the most inspiring hospital nurses, hospice nurses, home health nurses, and care teams who help older adults navigate aging with dignity and support. We also have nurses within our own Home Instead family whose leadership, clinical insight, and heart help guide extraordinary care for our older adults every day. And the truth is…this work matters more than ever. 💚

Research from the National Institute on Aging shows that loneliness and social isolation significantly increase risks for depression, cognitive decline, heart disease, and hospitalization in older adults. At the same time, studies continue to show that coordinated care, compassionate connection, and aging safely at home improve both emotional wellbeing and quality of life. 🔬🥼

That’s where nurses make such an remarkable impact. 🙏🏻

💚 You are often the calm voice in the chaos.
💚 The person families trust when they don’t know what to do next.
💚 The steady hand helping someone maintain dignity during one of the hardest seasons of life.
💚 You advocate.
💚 You educate.
💚 You notice the little things.
💚 And sometimes, without realizing it, you become part of a family’s story forever.

To every nurse we partner with and especially to the nurses within our own Home Instead team, thank you for your compassion, your skill, your sacrifice, and your extraordinary care.

💚 When laughter meets purpose…real impact happens 💚

We are incredibly proud to be the national partner of Hilarity for Charity, founded by Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen from their own personal experiences and passion to support those with Alzeheimer’s Disease.

As Seth shared: “Getting quality care shouldn’t depend on your financial situation…”

And that belief is exactly why this partnership matters. Through this expanded national collaboration, Home Instead Care Professionals are delivering in-home support through HFC’s Caregiver Grant Program and helping families navigate Alzheimer’s and dementia with dignity, relief, and the ability to stay safely at home.

✨ Since partnering, this program has already delivered over 530,000 hours of care, and we are just getting started.

📊 The need is real: More than 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for someone living with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

✨ “Impact.” That was the theme and it couldn’t have been more fitting. 💚

We just returned from our 2026 convention in beautiful snowy Denver feeling incredibly energized, grateful, and inspired. 🫶🏻

This year marks 25 years of owning and leading our Home Instead business. To stand alongside colleagues from across the country, leaders equally committed to serving older adults and their families was truly powerful.

We are especially proud to share that our teams across both of my offices were recognized with:

This Valentine’s Day, our Care Pros created beautiful moments with our seniors: making sun catchers, painting, sharing sweet treats, and reminiscing about first loves, lifelong partners, and Valentine’s Days gone by. 💌

Research shows connection and reminiscence lift spirits and support emotional well-being but what truly matters is the way eyes light up when memories are shared and hands create together. 💘

This is the heart of caregiving.
Moments of joy.
Moments of dignity.
Moments of love.

✨ 25 Years of Purpose. 25 Years of Heart. Reflections from our owner…

This month we are celebrating 25 years of QualCare, dba Home Instead and I honestly can’t believe how fast it’s gone.

People ask how I’ve stayed in this work so long.
The truth? I’ve never felt like I had to go to work.

I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside seniors and families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives supported by the most incredible caregivers and team.

I started as an STNA working my way through nursing school… and somehow, 25 years later, I love seniors even more than I did then.

Some of my favorite lessons from our almost-centenarians:

💛 Drink your water
💛 Keep moving
💛 Don’t sweat the small stuff
💛 Love hard
(And yes… Pond’s cold cream is apparently the ultimate beauty secret 😉)

This generation built our world. They teach us grit, gratitude, loyalty, and what truly matters every single day.

Would I do it again?

A million times over. 💚

To our caregivers, you are the heart of everything we do.
To our families, thank you for trusting us.
To our seniors, thank you for shaping who I am.

Here’s to 25 years of service, compassion, and purpose and to many more ahead. We can’t wait to celebrate throughout the year with special gatherings and the opening of a new location.

CarePro Appreciation & Happy Little Breaks 🎨

At Home Instead, our Care Pros are the heart of everything we do and this January, we are celebrating them in a meaningful way. 💚

This month’s Care Pro Appreciation Event combined two things that matter deeply to us:
✨ Exciting new benefits during January Open Enrollment
✨ Intentional rest and creativity through a relaxing painting class (yes… even a surprise Bob Ross moment made an appearance!)

Why does this matter?
Research consistently shows that caregiver well-being directly impacts care quality, retention, and job satisfaction.

✨ Portage County Proclamation! ✨
Today, we had the incredible privilege of receiving an official Proclamation from the Portage County Board of Commissioners recognizing the impact of our Be a Santa to a Senior program. 🎅🏻🎄

For 22 years, this program has carried forward a simple but powerful mission: To remind seniors who may be overlooked, isolated, or alone during the holidays that they are seen, cherished, and valued. 🎅🏻🎄

This year, thanks to our partnerships with local first responders, senior centers, churches, and community agencies, we will deliver gifts and friendly visits to approximately 475 seniors across Portage County. These small acts of kindness help lift holiday spirits and ensure no senior feels forgotten. 🎅🏻🎄

We are deeply grateful to the Commissioners for recognizing this work and for encouraging all residents to remember our seniors not only during the holidays, but throughout the entire year. 🎅🏻🎄
