I know many of you have already seen this before, but for some frustrating reason, Instagram deleted this original post about me from back in January. And because I have had new followers since then, I thought I would re-post and re-introduce myself. This time, I also wanted to link to the interview I did with VoyageLA recently:

Oh, and I’ve completed 600+ sessions at my bootcamp now 💪🏻

It’s a new year and I wanted to introduce myself on a more personal level. Swipe through to read 5 fun facts I haven’t shared before. Happy New Year🎉! by @homeneathome_ig

Whether you’re organizing a junk drawer, hallway closet or entire garage, the process is the same! Take everything out of the space, sort into like categories, and decide what you want to keep, donate or toss. Find the appropriate containers and put back into a space you can access.

This garage in San Francisco was narrow but deep and needed to house my clients’ various interests and hobbies— camping, skiing, hosting, and also allow an SUV to be parked inside. Industrial steel shelves from @costco fit weathertight totes from @thecontainerstore exactly (always measure your space and look at dimensions of products before you go on a shopping frenzy). The other side of the garage still holds some sporting equipment that is in the process of being sold, but the overall space now has zones that are easily accessible and flow more logically. by @homeneathome_ig

Expired food is taking up prime real estate in your pantry. You don’t necessarily need more storage, just a reset.

Fun fact: many client pantries are still filled with forgotten food from pandemic-era stockpiling (years 2020-2023)!

Utility closets often get overlooked but they are valuable real estate for storing bulky yet useful items, like vacuums of all shapes and sizes. This boss lady client had 5 different vacuums each with their own purpose, and are now easy to access and use. #professionalorganizer #utilitycloset #hallwaycloset #organized #noho by @homeneathome_ig

This working mama just moved into her new home with a baby under one. She didn’t have time to unpack and wanted to prioritize the kitchen first. While she was at work, I unpacked nearly 10 boxes of kitchen items and set up a system and flow for her. What if you could come home to an unpacked and organized space after moving? How much time and stress would it save you? #professionalorganizer #unpacking #kitchen #pantryorganization #kitchenorganisation by @homeneathome_ig

Come with me on this cute kitchen tour! Watch all the way until the end to see who my furry coworker was on this one-day project 🐶. My client just finished renovating her kitchen and I had so much fun helping her with the flow and setting up systems. #professionalorganizer #kitchen #organized #beforeandafter #pantry by @homeneathome_ig

Peep the little cutie inside the organized pantry 🐱! I’ve always been a dog person, but these British Longhair kittens might convince me to like felines too. My client from 3 years ago hired me to help her move into her new home. The great thing about this quick pantry project was that I was able to re-use everything from her previous apartment since I was the one who had purchased all the bins and baskets prior. #pantry #organization #britishlonghaircat by @homeneathome_ig

I don’t often organize garages unless it’s part of a whole house project. And I was happy to do so for this longterm client who I worked with for nearly 6 weeks before my trip to Asia last month. She had already decluttered a bit prior (but we did do another round together), so the process was faster. Having a furry coworker on the job is always sweet too 🐾

Pretty organizing is nice. Functional organizing is everything.

The everyday baby diapers and wipes were moved down low for easy access, while the too-small diapers stayed up high for when the family grows in the future. At first we left the bedding on the middle shelf, but ultimately moved it into dressers in each bedroom. That freed up eye-level space for the client’s gifting stash so she can easily see and give away items throughout the year.

The best organizing systems work with your habits, not against them. When an organizing system supports real life, everything feels easier. And when it looks beautiful too? That’s just a bonus for the nervous system. Worth remembering when organizing your own home.
