Home office reset photo dump ✨

Resetting my office at the end of my work day helps me:

✔️Have a closing ritual that signals to my brain: work is done.
✔️Have a home that feels relaxed and intentional.
✔️Set the stage for a fresh, welcoming start to my next workday.
✔️Support my commitment to treating my work and well-being with equal care.
✔️End the day with small, satisfying win.

Can you believe we are already in April?!? Here’s some of what I’ve been up to since the year started…

📸 I hosted my first get together in my new home! It was for Galentine’s day and had the best time with my girls. 🥰

📸 Went to the USVI with my bro, sis-in-law, and sister from another mother. We went to St. Croix (my home), St. Thomas, and St. John. Was trying to get a cute beach pic when a bird made a beeline straight at me! Me enjoying my grandfather playing the piano and singing. ♥️

📸 Flower things. Got a new book because I’m going to level up my flower arrangement game. 🌸

📸 Annual mammogram done. New glasses. A few random shots of me.

Living alone has been its own kind of re-orientation. Small things, like learning how to shop for one, end up teaching me about pacing, listening to myself, and surrendering to building a life that fits the season I’m in.

Grateful for a home that supports this version of me.

I have things I’m working on. I plan most Sundays. I have a planner I love.

And I’ve learned how much the space around me affects whether those plans actually happen.

When your home is cluttered or visually distracting it works against your focus, your follow-through, and your energy.

It’s hard to build new routines in a space that keeps getting in the way. by @homewithjend

I turned 53 four days ago! 🎉

And since my birthday, I’ve had emotional extremes…most scared, most surprised, and most loved I’ve ever felt. ♥️

Scared: Picture this…you’re sound asleep when suddenly someone is pounding on your front door at midnight, wrestling with your doorknob, and relentlessly ringing your doorbell. When I tell you, I genuinely thought this is how I was going to die. So I called 911 (twice!). Cops came and did nothing because they said there was no crime. I definitely let them have it, cause I’m a tax paying citizen and deserve to be protected! I think the cop rolled his eyes at me before leaving my apartment. I stayed up praying the rest of the night…thinking I needed to be alert in case the intruder tried to come back. They never did.

Surprised: Cue the video. Turns out the “intruders” were my brother, sister, their partners, and my dear friend. They flew in to surprise me for my birthday! Thank God the cops didn’t arrest them. They met me and Alton for lunch to pull off the surprise, and then basically kidnapped me for the last four days.

Loved: @franciskhaled, Kenya, Kemia, Richard, @queen_goodwin , @the.healing.temple, Monifa, @ilovemyspecialks, Alton, and Aiden planned a full weekend of love, food, and togetherness! Sean had to cancel his trip or he would have been there too. ♥️

I always feel like one of the best expressions of love is planning and preparing for someone. Y’all, they planned and prepared for me! I am loved and love all of them so much. ♥️ by @homewithjend
