There’s no place like home. ❤️🏡

This post is actual things my kids said (I can’t make this stuff up). 😂 We had the adventure of a lifetime, made memories we’ll never forget, and saw some of the most breathtaking places on Earth.

But we are SO happy to be back in Memphis.

We missed our people, our restaurants, our routines, and yes... our soccer fields. ⚽🍔

Memphis, you may not have glaciers or geysers (quite as big), but you’ve got our hearts.

Home sweet home. 💙

@mississippiriverexpeditions took us on an adventure this weekend to celebrate a 46th birthday. 🥳 Can’t get over the wildlife we saw, the weather we had, and those skyline views of our very own Bluff City. 🌆

I’m about to make this @mississippiriverexpeditions trip my entire personality.
Today we celebrate the people, the places, and the spirit that make this city our home. 💙

“Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you… Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” — Jeremiah 29:7 🙏 @memphismagazine prints this in the front of every issue.

May God bless our leaders, our teachers, our first responders, and our children. Grateful today — and every day — for the ones who make Memphis strong.

Be the kind of person who speaks positively about Memphis and, more importantly, works to make it a better place. I strive to be this city’s hype girl. If all you can see is the negative, maybe it’s time to change your view.

When the top of our rain barrel cracked after 5+ years of use, I could’ve just rolled it out to the curb on trash day. 🗑️ But instead, I thought:

After a soul-filling (and sleep-stealing 😅) beach weekend with family, I’m back home, organizing all the things — to-do lists ✔️ travel plans 🗓️ and even knocking out house projects 🧼💪

Midnight idea ➡️ toes-in-the-sand worship by morning. 🏖️🙏

Spontaneously searched for a beach church service late last night, and this one popped up less than a mile away (could’ve walked if I realized it sooner!).

I don’t carry guilt about using the Sabbath to rest, reflect, and recharge—especially when traveling out of town—but this time, I felt a nudge.

Let the fam sleep in 😴 and went solo.
And wow—He doesn’t care what you’re wearing or where you’ve been. He just wants you there. 💛

🚽 Would you give up plush TP to save the planet? 🌍💚

Hi, I’m Sally — a GREEN® Certified East Memphis Realtor committed to making eco-conscious choices in my home (and helping clients do the same!). One small swap we made years ago? Bamboo toilet paper. Yep, since before COVID.

We’ve had it on mail-order subscription since 2019 — so when the Great TP Shortage hit, we were stocked. 🙌

Truth time: it’s not the thickest or softest… My middle kid now considers her grandparents’ TP “a luxury item” and even asked for Charmin quilted rolls for Christmas. 😂

But here’s why we stick with bamboo TP:
♻️ It’s made from a renewable resource
🌿 Grows quickly with little water or pesticides
📦 Comes plastic-free & individually wrapped in paper
🚽 Septic-safe and low-clog risk thanks to thinner ply

🐛💚 I have SIX different types of milkweed growing in my Memphis yard right now—because feeding the monarchs is just the beginning.

Here’s what’s growing:
🌿 *Asclepias incarnata* (Swamp Milkweed)
🌿 *Asclepias syriaca* (Common Milkweed)
🌿 *Asclepias tuberosa* (Butterfly Weed)
🌿 *Cynanchum laeve* (Honeyvine Milkweed)
🌿 *Asclepias perennis* (Aquatic Milkweed)
🌿 *Asclepias curassavica* (Tropical Milkweed — not native to Memphis but good in pots for seasonal use!)

These plants don’t just serve monarchs—milkweed is also a critical food or habitat for:
🦋 Queen butterflies
🐞 Milkweed beetles
🐜 Aphids
🦗 Leafhoppers
🦟 Milkweed tussock moths

And because I’m feeding the insects, I’m also feeding Memphis wildlife that feeds on *them*, like:
🕊️ Bluebirds
🦉 Screech owls
🦎 Skinks
🐸 Tree frogs
🦝 Raccoons

It’s all connected. 🌱🌍
