L’Artusi review: 9/10 overall ⭐️

🍝🖤 Cacio e pepe — By far the best dish. The noodles were top tier with the perfect bite, and the peppercorns gave it a super floral note you only get from really good, fresh peppercorns. 10/10

🍜✨ Tagliatelle — The pasta itself was incredible. Very thin, almost like the thin-ness of xiao long bao wrappers at Din Tai Fung. 8.5/10

🍄🥚🐖 Mushrooms — Good but nothing too crazy. A little salty. The concept really reminded me of Filipino sisig in its salinity, the pepper + pork combo, and the addition of egg. 7.5/10

🍰🫒 Olive oil cake — Moist, lightly yeasty (pretty sure it was leavened with yeast, which gave it a flavor that I enjoyed), and even the raisins worked here even though I’m normally not a huge raisin fan. 8.25/10 taken in L'Artusi by @honestfooood

Found a great ribeye at my Trader Joe’s so had to grab it. Seared then basted with garlic and rosemary, and served with a simple black pepper and mushroom sauce. Quick and easy boy dinner

Honest review of some @radiobakerynyc items as someone who loves eating and making baked goods 😋

Passionfruit croissant 🥐 $12 (8.75/10): puff pastry, passionfruit curd, and a toasted meringue. Beautiful presentation, curd has a strong passionfruit (and possibly mango?) flavor. Slightly too sweet for my taste, but overall a solid and unique pastry. Note that this is a limited time item: Friday-Sunday until Valentine’s, released at 10am each day.

Triple chocolate croissant 🍫 $8 (7.5/10): crispy, flaky croissant layers with a bold, semi sweet chocolate filling. Good, but nothing too special, especially for the price.

Meyer lemon & olive oil croissant 🍋 $7 (9/10): the creamy, slightly sweet olive oil custard was nicely contrasted by the punchy and slightly bitter candied Meyer lemon. This pastry was beautifully balanced.

Sausage and chive focaccia $8 (9/10): airy slice of focaccia with addicting salty bits of sausage and a nice onion-y undertone from the chives. The sausage bits tasted more like bacon bits to me, but that’s beside the point. Definitely get this if you like to contrast your sweets with some savory items.

I’ll be sure to keep coming back to try out their special, though I’ve already gone back 3 times this month 🫣
