ㆍ • Design & Art history • Hong.d I 홍. --------------------- 🌿🌸 During the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century, William Morris wanted to bring back the beauty of craftsmanship and handmade work that was disappearing in the age of mass production. Together with his friends, he founded Morris & Co. They made and sold beautiful handmade wallpapers, textiles, furniture, and other decorative objects, helping lead the Arts and Crafts Movement. He believed that beautiful art and craftsmanship could make life better. His wallpaper designs, inspired by flowers, birds, and leaves, are still loved around the world today. 💛🩷🩵 Which 3 patterns are your favorites? 📌📌📌 Save this post and come back to it whenever you need inspiration.

😊🥤 ------------------------ Coca-Cola Advertising in the Art Nouveau Era ✨️ •Art Nouveau | c. 1890-1910 | France & Belgium → Europe & America •Coca-Cola Poster | 1890s | USA Art Nouveau is known for its flowing lines and decorative designs inspired by nature. This Coca-Cola poster was created in the 1890s, when Art Nouveau was popular in Europe and America. The image shows a well-dressed woman holding a glass of Coca-Cola. On the table is a card listing the company's home office in Atlanta and branch offices in Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Dallas. At the time, a glass of Coca-Cola cost just 5 cents. The model was actress and model Hilda Clark. This poster is not usually considered a typical Art Nouveau design. However, because it was created during the same period, it offers a glimpse into the tastes and visual culture of the time. A single advertisement can tell us a great deal about the design and consumer culture of its era. This was Coca-Cola during the Art Nouveau era.
