Here's a look at a weekend game jam me, @ben_dale / @kinggorillatv , and some other friends took part in. The game is called Grub Witch and it has a sort of Pikmin esque style where you control grubs to gather resources and recruit other forest critters. I did much of the terrain tiling as well as the music!

If you're just joining these are sketches and design developments for my far-future scifi graphic novel GK. The protagonist, Ken, is seen here coming down from hyper sleep in a deep healing tank while being brought up to speed on his next mission to exterminate a nearby giga monster.

Here its some in progress testing of style, still searching for it frankly but I do like the direction of some of the stuff here!

This is my last update on my comic GK for now, hopefully more to come in future, but I have other projects I will be sharing about tomorrow as well so stay tuned!! 🙏🔥

Here is some visdev/concept art of a small personal vehicle for getting around the gigantic spaceship the characters are aboard in "GK". Other than the photobashed hubcaps/axels this was made entirely with the brush and lasso tools only.

I learned a ton about how to make convincing hard surface renders from rough concept designs like this in the class i took with the great @till.freitag last winter!

I love the end result but I still might bring back the lofi comfy seat from earlier concepts. You can see it slowly became elongated as well. What do you think? Is this a convincing fabrication?

Here are more thumbnails and sketches from GK, a graphic novel following the ultimate Metahuman, Ken, as he faces down terrifying space-based kaiju like beings in the distant future while grappling with his own purpose and design.

Ken (like all GK pilots) is required to get his mind to a restful state before particularly tense missions as it is scientifically proven to help maximize self-confidence and flow-state in tense or critical situations later on.

On the home battleship there are massive holo-stations that simulate a relaxing and natural climate with near perfection. There are top facilities for sports activities, spa, dining, sexual health workshops, clubbing/dancing, and more to help put pilots at maximum ease.

Ken must adhere to protocol and accepts the pre-mission vacation but does so begrudgingly and his mind doesn't rest so easily this time.

In the world of GK especially high value pilots are sometimes forced to take mandatory leisure time before especially stressful missions. They are treated to the highest quality accommodations at their beck and call. Almost no request is denied.
