Just a little information for folks who are becoming politicized and are exploring the landscape of different organizations out there. It's always good to do your homework so you know the full spectrum details bout who you jumping on board with.

Nobody's perfect and We all carry our issues, but there are those that go beyond the simple issue of contradictions and imperfections and enter the arena of being problematic.

RevCom/Revolutionary Communist Party/ RCP Is one of those organizations that I would highly encourage people to do your homework on before you jump on board. I first learned about them in the early 90s And I just thought they were One of the many organizations doing good work out there to push for change but over the years I've learned otherwise.

Check out the article that I posted by googling the title and taking time to read. They're different people out there who spoken up in different ways so this is just one of the perspectives out there. by @hoodcertifiedla

IF YOU CRUISE CRENSHAW THEN THIS EVENT IS AN IMPORTANT EVENT TO SUPPORT.
*SUNDAY, August 15th @12noon*

The Crenshaw Mall is up for sale and you know if they sell this mall to an outside developer then that means gentrification is going to take over and they're going to make sure lowriding and cruising don't happen in this neighborhood no longer.

We can't lose the Crenshaw strip for cruising.
We can't lose the Crenshaw Mall as a community space that can be developed by the community vision to make sure that everything developed at the mall reflects all those important places we want to shop and support.

We know if outsiders bring in their high-end shops and create market-rate $$$ housing, That's just going to bring in more rich folks who are going to buy up everything and push out local folks.

OG residents want and deserve nice things but that shouldn't come at the cost of pushing out and displacing OG COMMUNITIES. Basically, we won't be around to enjoy any of it if they push us out. We know whatever outside developers are planning to develop is not going to benefit the local OG community.

The community, through the organization Downtown Crenshaw Rising, has raised $115 million dollars to buy the mall, But for some reason their offer is being rejected for some other guy who made a lower offer and who doesn't even have the money in the bank. He has to keep asking for extensions so he can get the time to find money.

The community actually has their cash in the bank and is calling out the broker for rejecting their highest offer.
In the end, it's supposed to be about business... Money is money but for some reason the community's money is not good enough for them.

Members of the Crenshaw community along with the organization Downtown Crenshaw Rising (DCR) protest the sale of the Crenshaw Mall to Harridge Development Group, led by CEO David Schwartzman, in front of his home on July 25, 2021in Beverly Hills, Calif.

After making the largest offer of $115 million for the property, DCR says that they have been passed over for a lesser bid by Harridge Development Group. DCR has also made it clear that they have fully raised the funds that back their offer, while Harridge has been operating on multiple extensions in order for them to raise adequate funds to back a purchase of the property. DCR believes that discrimination against the black community of Crenshaw is what has led the brokerage firm DWS to reject their offer in favor of an outside white developer who is offering less money and who has no ties to the community.

Ultimately, DCR and its members fear that outside developers will lead to an acceleration of gentrification in the neighborhood leading to the displacement of long-term residents as the development will not be geared to the financial capacity of the community. This will only make the current housing crisis worse while making wealthy developers even more wealthy.

Cool, I'll bite....I can dig it and I'm counting on it ... Here is an opportunity to mobilize on that.

ACTION YOU CAN DO: Tell the LA City attorney, George Gascon, to charge #BrendanKhuri for the murder of Monique Munoz while he was street racing his Lamborghini. Use Email, call, social media, etc... The book pressure on George Gascon to hold the driver accountable.

His millionaire father, James Khuri, continues to use his wealth and influence to keep his son from facing any consequences. Other people who don't have power or influence have been charged for much less, So why is Brendan Khuri so special to escape charges and consequences?

Google the names Brendan Khuri and James Khuri.
The father, James, is a millionaire who works in real estate and E-commerce through his company FJ Holdings with companies like Hasbro, Topps, Pokemon, Konami, Mattel, Sony, Microsoft, JVC, Nintendo, Samsung, Revlon, Maybelline, Skullcandy, and others.

Maybe we should all tag these companies and let them know what kind of person they're doing business with. Sometimes the only time people take a serious is when we fk with their money. This dude has no business making millions of dollars that insulate him and his family from consequences that we have to face daily.
