The Hood River Hotel - I find, in my travels, that there is no place I’d rather be than right here - The Columbia River Gorge, The Hood River. It holds a special charm that is hard to find elsewhere, something we can all speak of, those that have visited and experienced its allure, but can only conceptualize through experiencing it. It’s a place situated along the banks of the Columbia River, with the snow capped Mount Hood surveying the town, like lord and purveyor of fresh spring mountain water that hydrates the tributaries below. Staying here, in the @hoodriverhotel is the quintessential experience, situated in downtown, it embraces, within its walls, a history of adventure, expedition, and an era finding its way in this wild gorge. Founded as a social hub for early settlers, explorers, and travelers in 1888, it overlooks the iconic Hold River railway. I could stare out this window and forget time as I imagine how it must have been for early settlers. Did they feel such liberation and thirst for adventure as I feel now in this place? apple season on the Fruit Loop is in full swing! 🍎🍂

Did you know we have complimentary apples at the hotel, freshly picked from @kiyokawafamilyorchards Our personal favorite is the Mountain Rose, known for its beautiful pink flesh! 💗

But don’t stop there! Take a drive along the Fruit Loop, pick up some crisp apples at @pearlsplacefruit , grab a Gorge Glacier apple cider slushie, vanilla ice cream, caramel, and whipped cream 🤤or spend the afternoon @thegorgewhitehouse sipping on a locally made cider flight under the apple trees. 🍏

Have you heard of the @hoodrivervalleyfruitloop ?! 🍒🍎

It’s the perfect time to start planning a trip with fall on the way!

This is a 35 mile loop that brings you along 30+ u-pick farms, fruit stands, wineries, cideries, and breweries. I’ve included a couple more stops that are right along the route that I think are worth the stop (from someone who lived here).

I’ve heard some people do a day trip from @travelportland which is possible, but save time driving being close, plus it’s always fun to escape for a weekend!

🍑 Not every farm is u-pick, and not everything will be in season when you go! Always check beforehand, what’s in season and what’s available to pick! Their websites and social medias are good resources for this!

🐾 A lot of these places are dog friendly, but double check beforehand, as sometimes rules change and vary by weather.

Stave & Stone might just be one of my favorite stops on the Fruit Loop 🍷✨ Delicious wines, the dreamiest little bites from artichoke dip to smoked fish, and tiny hummingbirds buzzing around while you sip. Truly could spend all day here. 🥹🌿 by @hoodriverhotel
