A little rain never hurt anybody anyway - Base Camp 2026 🏕️

At Hartman Creek State Park, participants this year got the chance to earn their orientation ratings in mountain biking, kayaking, and backpacking. The rain slowed some activities down, but it proved no worries for the backpackers as they trekked along the Ice Age Trail. A lot of good food was had, and a lot of great memories were made!

In August, a BP4 trip went out to Cloud Peak Wilderness for a week-long stay in the backcountry. Powered by many cans of beans, they successfully summited Cloud Peak and became absolute legends 🔥

Outing had quite the busy summer! We had an event almost every single day this summer, from sea kayaking to mountain biking, and everything in between. This is only a small glimpse into all of the trips that went out this summer!

Needless to say, this isn't possible without the hard work of our leaders, so thank you!

EWLP Alaska 2026 🏔

This year, the Emerging Wilderness Leadership Program headed out to Alaska for an epic eight-day off-trail saga. Starting planning in early February, Leaders in Training worked to create a route through the Talkeetna Mountains, focusing on safety while building in intentional challenge.

They climbed a total of 11,000 ft of elevation, learning techniques for navigation and route-finding over rough terrain. After miles of boulder fields, scree, snow, glaciers, ravines, and lush green hills, the LITs left the mountains ready to show others in the Outing Club the wonders of the outdoors.
