I am excited to announce that I will be attending Cleveland State University College of Law. ⚖️

I have dreamed of becoming an attorney since I was a little girl sitting in a Cleveland classroom. Now, I have the opportunity to study law in the very city that helped make me who I am. This is truly a full-circle moment.

I am deeply grateful for my family and for everyone who encouraged me, prayed for me, and believed in this dream.

What is self-evident to me is that I must pursue the law. Black women make up approximately 2% of attorneys in the United States, and I am proud to be taking the first step toward adding my voice, perspective, and service to that number.

My purpose is to tell the truth and insist that the law protect the inalienable rights endowed by our Creator. I will stand where decisions are made and work to ensure that the law dignifies and protects the very people its promise had to be amended to include, so help me God.

Cleveland, I’m coming home. 💚
