"Light Floods In", by D.T. Rose, is one of the poems from the first issue of The Dream Shard Grimoire. One of the things I like most about this poem is the way it plays with perspective, as it is the story of the removal of a tumor from the point of view of the tumor. What made this such a good fit for the first issue of The Dream Shard Grimoire was the way in which it meditated on death itself dying, in a way.

The background is a photo taken by me of the Wisconsin River, in the Driftless Region west of Madison.

I know that staying means nothing changes, but damn- that was an unnecessary cruelty on the Universe's part. I felt like I was saying "Goodbye" all over again. I put a lot of stress and money into getting back to my loves up north, but I've also put a lot into life here when I believed Canada wasn't happening.
I choose not to gamble my life again. I choose to be here with my family. I'm so grateful for everyone that tried to help me stay up north and I'm truly sorry that things won't work out, but it's been five years...

I'm getting a place with CJ near my Naka. I'm going to plant my roots and start a family of queers and strays. I love you all and I'm actually happy, despite the last few days. by @hooklove_blue

Today was a very hard day for me. I went into a spiral when I received this official email, saying my application to reside in Canada was accepted...5 years after it was submitted.
A year ago, I would've packed up and left without a second thought, but now things are different. I had given up on my dreams with @norweigenlifter and @hamfish.stone and started to build a life here with @cjlanepoetry and Naka.
I've spoken with my partners, family, and friends; we know that the answer is obvious, but I still want to take time to consider all outcomes.
