On Thursday, Sept. 17, @hooverseniorcenter members and staff presented “Murder in the Stacks,” a whodunit play written by Grace Bailey of the @hooverpubliclibrary. Members and guests had a blast figuring out “whodunit!”

Today the @hooverfiredepartment, @hooveralpolice and the @cityofhoover commemorated the 25th anniversary of the September 11 Terrorist Attacks with a memorial at the @riverchasegalleria, featuring retired U.S. Secret Service @authorkennethvalentine, who served during the Clinton, Bush and Obama Administrations. Valentine spoke of evacuating President George Bush and First Lady Laura Bush at the @whitehouse on the evening of 9/11 after an unknown aircraft was targeted heading for the @whitehouse. Valentine bravely stayed behind after ensuring everyone evacuated, facing what most thought would be another terrorist attack. EXCITING NEWS! All 16 schools in the @hoovercityschools system were named to the 2026 list of America’s Healthiest Schools! We were also the ONLY school system recognized from the state of Alabama.
