❤️ MEET SYDNEY ❤️ Sydney is a very sweet, 3-year-old, female mini husky/ pomsky dog who was rescued from the Palmdale shelter. Sydney is a real sweetheart and is also good with other dogs, including small dogs. She loves to go on walks, is very affectionate and likes to give kisses. She is just a little love bug. She also loves to play in the water. Sydney is very smart, knows basic commands and learns quickly. She she is a perfect size and would make a wonderful addition to any family. Please help our pups! We have placed many dogs in amazing foster and adoptive homes, and we at so thankful! We also have amazing pups whose fosters cut the commitments short or where adopters backed out. We have been hiring pet sitters and at 40-80 a day per pup that is not sustainable. We want them to have the best most loving homes! 🚨🆘 DEADLINE - TUESDAY 10/20 @ 5 PM OR SOONER! 📍RIVERSIDE 💔 It is heartbreaking that a dog can face DEATH following kennel fights. Who was he kenneled with? What housing decisions & conditions possibly contribute to kennel fights? Curious what assessments are conducted to establish compatibility & how are introductions handled? What precautions are taken to prevent conflicts? When fights occur, which seems to sadly be pretty often, why does the focus appear to fall on the dogs rather than the circumstances in which they were placed? 🐾 PENGUIN -#A1936269 Siberian Husky •Male •4 yrs 📅 INTAKE: 9/8/26 Gorgeous bi-eyed & parti-eyed with fantastic fluffer & STRUT! 🔴 Participated in playgroup, greeted other dogs appropriately, tolerated their greetings, walked well on leash, sought human attention & returned to his kennel without difficulty. 🔴 Participated in another playgroup. 🔴 A kennel fight occurred. Penguin was described as potentially dog selective, with instructions to FEED SEPARATELY. 🔴 Participated in playgroup again. Later, another kennel fight was reported, which ended before staff arrived. Was Penguin’s compatibility with his kennel mates reassessed? Were feeding arrangements changed? What safeguards were implemented before he was placed with another dog again? Why isn’t separate feeding standard practice in shared kennels? Should it be? Why do dogs need to coexist 3-5 in a kennel in stressful shelter conditions, only to face deadly consequences when conflicts occur? Sad circumstances. Wonder why more kennels & safer housing isn’t available? I struggle to understand how beautiful & friendly dogs outside of kennels lose their lives for kennel issues. 💔 Penguin has interacted appropriately with dogs in playgroups, walked calmly on leash & seeked affection from people. Inside a kennel already occupied? Done correctly? With time & patience? Notes can get him overlooked & KILLED, despite positive playgroups. Why aren’t kennel conditions & pairings scrutinized? Why KILL a dog for the KENNEL & pairings beyond a dogs control? Why isn’t feed separately STANDARD PRACTICE, instead of waiting for fights & KILL lists? Why aren’t more kennels being built? They had $2.5 MILLION for ADVICE! Why force dogs to coexist 3-5 per kennel, then PUNISH them with DEATH when it goes wrong? WHO holds the shelter accountable for its environment & decisions? How does a shelter acknowledge that a dog is deteriorating in its environment & then justify killing that dog based on behavior observed under those conditions? WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY? Where is the video? The shelters own video 📹 shows a beautiful friendly dog. Why do dogs seem to get the same negative notes when someone decides it’s time for them to die? 💔 Guava has demonstrated social, playful behavior repeatedly. Why lock dogs up just to deadline & kill them for not enjoying lock up? A shelter should be working to address the effects of confinement, not treating a dog’s struggle to cope as justification for ending her life. 🚨 WHAT EFFORTS WERE MADE TO ADDRESS GUAVA’S DECLINE BEFORE ASSIGNING HER A DEADLINE TO DIE?
