Valentine's Day... Who was St. Valentine anyway?? Well, he was a Roman Priest serving under an emperor who persecuted the church at that time and prohibited the marriage of young Christian couples. Valentine was martyred back in 269 AD for standing up for his beliefs in Jesus, in addition to marrying couples in secret because the edict was in place. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (The full story can be read at the link in our profile today: http://www1.cbn.com/st-valentine-real-story) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, basically St. Valentine loved Jesus, loved the persecuted church, and loved love. And so we celebrate today! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As Jesus once said, "This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." (John 15:12-13 NLT) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #hopedelivered #valentinesday #stvalentine #persecutedchurch by @hopedelivered

When doubts get louder and confusion gets the best of you, sometimes you just need a visual reminder of Truth in your midst. - This Art Print is for anyone out there in need of the reminder that God has given them a promise and that He will be faithful to deliver on it. - "Covenant With Abraham" is inspired by Genesis 15:4-6 and Genesis 17:4-6. When given a promise about his future that was bigger than Abram's beliefs could handle, God encouraged him. "'No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.' Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, 'Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!' And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith." God then gave him a new name—Abraham—telling him he would be very fruitful; the father of many nations. - Let the stars remind you, as well, that God has something bigger than you can imagine in store for you; a grand plan for His glory and your good. Keep at it! May you see yourself not in the light of defeat today, but in the same way that God sees you—capable, equipped, qualified, and called because He is with you. He is making a way and He is faithful. You are closer than you think. - The Abraham series includes eleven prints. Art Prints are available in three sizes starting at $10. 20% of every purchase is donated to support persecuted Christians worldwide. - http://bit.ly/HD-abrahamstars (link temporarily in profile) - #hopedelivered #bibleart #minimalistprint #scriptureart #artprints #artthatgivesback #homedecor #walldecor #officedecor #biblestory #modernbibleart #abraham #fatherabraham #stars #starrysky #godisfaithful #christianinspiration #wonthedoit taken in Durham, North Carolina by @hopedelivered

I’ve been diving into the Old Testament like never before lately, and absolutely loving it. Studying Scripture and researching the context for new Art Prints has been my motivation, but what keeps me coming back for more is the personal growth I have gained from it. As my knowledge of the stories expands, so does my understanding of God’s character, and therefore, my faith in Him and reliance on Him. I can’t put this Book down! - #hopedelivered #bible #biblestudy #dailydevotion #christianinspiration #bibleart #oldtestament #holybible by @hopedelivered

In Genesis 3 we read about the Fall of Man. God told Adam and Eve, the first two humans, that they could eat from any tree in the entire garden except for one. There was just one thing forbidden to them, prefaced by an abundance of things that were permitted and encouraged for them to enjoy. - And what does the Enemy do? Yep—he attacks the notion of that one exception. “Did God really say…” he began questioning them. And after a simple conversation, he had Eve convinced—she fell for the lie. “So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.” - It was important to me to design this piece with two bites out of the fruit. Although it was recorded that Eve did the talking (I’ll leave space for your own stereotypical judgment of women here...), Adam blindly followed her lead without recorded rebuttal (...your turn to make the stereotypical judgment of men here, ladies…). They both took action, making this the first sin, and they both had consequences for that decision—which we still feel the effects of today. - Thankfully, even though we live in this fallen world, today we have the forgiveness, grace, love and mercy of Jesus Christ. All who believe in Him have been redeemed; we have been given eternal life! Rest in this hope: no matter what fruit you have tasted in your lifetime—or whatever fruit was consumed by those before you—Jesus’s life, death and resurrection are greater. - http://bit.ly/HD-creationseries (Link temporarily in profile) - #hopedelivered #bibleart #minimalistprint #scriptureart #artprints #artthatgivesback #homedecor #walldecor #officedecor #biblestory #modernbibleart #adamandeve #fallofman #thefirstsin #creationstory taken in Durham, North Carolina by @hopedelivered

Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. Earthly people are like the earthly man, and heavenly people are like the heavenly man. Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man. - What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever. But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! - So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. - From 1 Corinthians 15:47-58 - #hopedelivered #jesus #secondman #resurrectionbody #christianinspiration #bibleverse taken in Durham, North Carolina by @hopedelivered

Last week I was challenged by a good friend to take a break. I had been going full-speed for way too many days in a row and hadn't taken time to rest my mind, body or spirit. (My health and my attitude were reflective of that!) - It was important for me to remember that even God took an entire day to rest after a good week’s work. How much more do we humans need rest? - Regarding this piece from the Creation series, I think people will especially enjoy “Day 7 of Creation: Rest” due to its fun, fresh design. It invites viewers to take a deep breath, think of their favorite vacation spot, and relax. Visually, it will look nice displayed at a desk, in any beach home or even included on dream & inspiration boards. - http://bit.ly/HD-creationseries (Link temporarily in profile) - #hopedelivered #bibleart #minimalistprint #scriptureart #artprints #artthatgivesback #homedecor #walldecor #officedecor #biblestory #modernbibleart #beachchair #sabbath #sabbathrest #creationstory #takeabreak #rest taken in Durham, North Carolina by @hopedelivered

Hope Delivered® Art Prints are more than just pretty pictures or cool designs. Beyond the computer screen, I care deeply about how each and every print comes out. - I personally produce each one from a high end printer onto professional, archival paper. After a thorough quality inspection, if there are zero flaws in the printing, I trim the print to size and package it up for shipping, praying over each one—that it would bless every person who lays eyes on it. - Curious about the nerdy specs? Alright, alright... Each Art Print is a gallery-quality Giclée print on archival paper (natural white, matte, 100% cotton rag, 325 gsm, 18 mil, acid and lignin-free archival UltraSmooth™ Fine Art Paper) using archival inks (Epson® UltraChrome K3 inks). Each Art Print is custom trimmed, leaving a border for the option of framing without covering artwork. - #hopedelivered #bibleart #minimalistprint #scriptureart #artprints #artthatgivesback #persecutedchristians #persecutedchurch #homedecor #walldecor #officedecor #biblestory #modernbibleart #gicleefineprint taken in Durham, North Carolina by @hopedelivered

"Read the Bible," my devotional notes said. Simple concept, right? My own thoughts scribbled on paper from a couple months ago convicted me straight to the heart today and I found myself highlighting some key points. "Read the Bible as if it's my only life source. Devour it, all day every day." - This book we have is the inspired word of God—living and active—right in the palm of our hands. Its contents have changed lives worldwide for centuries. Keeping one and reading it openly is a privilege only a minority in the world have—countless people have lost their lives over it. Millions have been smuggled in secret due to the power in their pages. - It's time I take this book, The Book—The Bible—much more seriously. - #hopedelivered #holybible #thebible #readthebible #christianinspiration by @hopedelivered

Illustrate the BIBLE? Where do you even start with that?? - The task seemed daunting at first, but then it just hit me. I saw the entire design in my head of “Day 6 of Creation: Man and Woman” with the rib and pile of dirt. I couldn’t design it fast enough; I had so much creative motivation to get that one on screen. - When completed, it gave me the inspiration I needed and set the creative tone for every design that has now been included in the Hope Delivered® Art Prints. - For more design inspiration behind the very first series I created, check out this recent blog post: http://bit.ly/HD-CreationDesign (link temporarily in profile) - See the 11-piece Creation Series at hopedelivered.com/creation-series - #hopedelivered #bibleart #minimalistprint #creation #creationstory #scriptureart #artprints #genesis #manandwoman #intelligentdesign #creationist #creationofman taken in Durham, North Carolina by @hopedelivered

"Three and a half years ago I was working in Denver," Ryan began. "I was struggling to make ends meet because of poor spending habits and an overwhelming amount of student loan debt. God spoke to me in a clear way, clearer than he had ever spoken to me." - Many of us ask God what we should do next, but it can be difficult to follow through with obedience, especially when He calls us to a HUGE life transition. In today's Story of Hope on the blog, Ryan shares the story of what brought him all the way from Colorado to North Carolina and the faith it required to reap the reward. - " I learned God’s timing is perfect; when you put your decisions in God’s hands, things happen you can't even imagine. God has already been working in your life and is waiting for your obedience." - You'll certainly be encouraged by reading Ryan's full story on the blog: http://bit.ly/HD-storyofhope-Ryan (link temporarily in profile) - #hopedelivered #HDstoryofhope #storyofhope #hopeinjesus #christianinspiration #trustandobey #faith #hope #godstiming #godstimingnotmine by @hopedelivered

Nautilus shells, sunflowers, pine cones, and spiral galaxies are just a couple examples of logarithmic spirals. These "golden spirals" can be considered mathematically perfect because their growth factor is the golden ratio. Super smart people (like Fibonacci and others) have studied these ratios for the last eight centuries or so. - Isn't it cool how with one simple command, "'Let the waters swarm with fish and other life," God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water? We have yet to discover all of the many details of God's perfect, curious, and unique underwater creations. - http://bit.ly/HD-creationseries (Link temporarily in profile) - #hopedelivered #bibleart #minimalistprint #nautilus #goldenratio #goldenspiral #seashell #seacreatures #creation #creationstory #scriptureart #artprints #genesis taken in Durham, North Carolina by @hopedelivered
