#HappyBirthday To one of the most adventurous & positive human beings I have ever met 🤗! It was such a random surprise when we reconnected after YEARS of unintentionally having no contact whatsoever, and I couldn’t be happier for you living your life and thriving right now! So Grandma, although the last couple years of your life were more than challenging, and certainly painful at times, it’s hard to find someone more resilient than you through it all. And as heartbreaking as it is to be reminded of our mortality when we lose someone we love so dearly, there is a certain solace in knowing that you’ve been reunited with your parents, grandparents, all of your siblings and Dennis after all these years.

I know you’ve certainly had chats with him over the years, but knowing you’ve got half a lifetime of memories, people and experiences to discuss with him brings me SO much joy.

I do not look at this so much as a farewell, but more of a goodbye for now. I look forward to meeting him one day when we join you both up in #Heaven ❤️.

Today our fourth dog, Nala, made her journey across the rainbow bridge to reunite with Bo, who made his journey last fall, and meet Bud and Bella who made their own journeys back in 2013 & 2014.

Where do I even begin with this sassy, fiercely loyal, loving, protective diva…

We rescued her from an illegal breeder, and unfortunately, we did not get to her before she had her tail snipped, but that didn’t stop her from fiercely wagging her little stump of a tail anytime she was excited or wanting to play. She was able to retain her incredibly adorable and massive floppy ears, though which was fantastic! Her and Baby grew up alongside one another and unfortunately, when we brought Nala into the family, I was just finishing high school and heading away to college.

I don’t think she truly realized her own strength and weight for a while because she would always lean on us and she would bound after Baby like a little baby elephant when trying to play, and while Baby was the older one, and had been around longer, I do think she was intimidated a bit by Nala sometimes in a playful way.

She would never shy away from showing her personality and had an adorable head tilt when we would say certain words or question her behavior to her face in a playful way.

After a certain point, their daily quality of life means astronomically more than our unwillingness to say goodbye. I was really looking forward to showing both Baby & Nala our new home.

It doesn’t matter if this is the fourth time I’ve had to say goodbye. It will never get easier.

We will always love you, never forget you and the impact you have had on our family. I hope we gave you the best possible life that we could and you’re enjoying your time running through the fields, arthritis free, unlimited slobber-free water, with our other dearly departed, pups. I’m sure Bud & Bella were very eager to meet you & Bo couldn’t wait to reunite with you.

I know you don’t have any Social Media Dad, but I figured it was about time I update this collection of pics for your birthday today.

Thank you for everything that you’ve done to give us the best possible life that you could show me what it means to be a good, respectful and loyal man.

You’ve shown me strength, perseverance, and what it means to be a good father and husband. I hope to one day be able to fill the ‘New Balances’ that you have worn for so many years.

I am at a loss for words…absolutely heartbroken about the loss of my friend @nicki_springs 💔, gone far too soon. Your ability to find the humor in everything and make everyone around you smile, even through the toughest times, is something I will forever be grateful and thankful for. Your creativity always inspired me to keep pursuing creative avenues.

My life is monumentally better for having you in it, i will cherish the memories we made together and you will be dearly and forever missed. #RestInPeace by @horanj19

Even though you’re across the world & this is late, I still want to give a very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you @clairee_mul

We have become SO much closer over the last few years and been through quite a wild ride together thus far. When I was having doubts about my passions & dreams you were there to help reinforce them & aid me in pursuing them. You encouraged me to join you in the journey for what has become one of my most invested franchises & fandoms, which is the Grey’s Anatomy universe (never thought I’d be as into it as I am tbh🫣).

Our group Simple Fam trip showed me just how much we have in common & how we share a similar sense of humor in many regards as well! Whether it was the late night porch chats, the ticket pre-orders, our beach adventures, escape room escapades, or rampant text streams about the next crazy thing happening in our favorite shows, I am SO glad to have had someone to geek out about it all with!

I couldn’t have asked for a better person to help me with my editing, you put a HILARIOUS and unique creative spin on everything that you do and I look forward to what’s to come down the line! I have been honored to be able to read some of your incredible work and also look forward to your next piece!

Ever since my sister moved away, I have really been lacking in the way of a close, compassionate, goofy platonic bestie & you almost instantly filled that void when we became friends.
