Big smile from my favorite girl!
Lately, I’ve been trying to be more intentional about being in the moment.

Over the last few months, I’ve found myself leaving my camera at home more and more during our hikes. Taking the time to actually enjoy the trail, the views, and the company, but also letting my dogs just be dogs, without feeling like every beautiful moment needs to be photographed. I love capturing memories of them, and I know I’ll always treasure the thousands of photos I have. But sometimes I think the best way to remember a moment is simply to be fully there for it.

So lately, I’ve been trying to: 🐾 Put my phone and camera away for parts of the hike 🐾 Stop more often with no other purpose than to look around and let them sniff and explore 🐾 Remind myself that not every beautiful moment needs to become content
And somehow, when I do pull the camera out, the photos feel a little more special.

Going back to our origins.
Sometimes, moving forward means going back to what has always felt like home.
Over the past year, life changed in ways I never expected. Some chapters ended, new ones began, and somewhere in between, I found myself questioning who I was and where I wanted to go. Looking back, every challenge taught me something, but most importantly, it reminded me of what has always made me feel the most like myself.
Exploring.
Growing up, I never lived in the same place for very long. Moving from one country to another taught me to embrace change, stay curious, and always look toward the next horizon. No matter where life took me, one thing never changed: my love for the outdoors and the adventures I shared with my dogs.

That’s where Horizon.Nomades comes from.
I wanted a name that felt like home in both French and English, a little piece of where I come from and who I am. A reminder that home isn’t always a place. Sometimes, it’s the people (and dogs) beside you, the trail beneath your feet, and the excitement of discovering what’s around the next corner.
This isn’t just a new handle. It’s a return to my roots and the beginning of a new chapter.
So, welcome to Horizon.Nomades. Here’s to many more adventures together. by @horizon.nomades

Some wins deserve a little celebration.

Last weekend was Gaia’s very first camping trip, and she completely surprised me.
Five years ago, I brought home a dog who struggled to trust the world. This weekend, I watched her relax around camp, spend time with her friends, confidently hike alongside us, and even walk into the river... something I never thought I’d see from a dog who used to hate water and lack trust in the world.

One of the hardest parts of rescuing a dog is that progress rarely happens overnight. It’s built through hundreds of quiet moments that don’t always feel like they’re making a difference... until one day you look back and realize they did.
I’m so proud of this girl and the adventure dog she’s become.

Now it’s my turn to recover. The wildfire smoke hit me harder than I expected, so I’m on a little bed rest while my voice and lungs catch up. Hoping we’ll be back on the trails soon. by @horizon.nomades

Summer adventure loading... ☀️🏕️
Anyone else spend all winter dreaming about camping season only to realize June is here and you have no idea where half your gear is?

Camping season is finally around the corner, which means I’ve spent the last week digging through gear bins, reorganizing equipment, and making sure everything still works after being packed away all winter.
So consider this your reminder to check your gear before heading into the wild. Future you will be grateful.
One of my goals this year is to level up my camp cooking game. Usually, Kylee and Shayna are the reason I don’t starve in the wilderness, making sure I eat something other than trail mix and snacks.
But this year? My goal is to surprise them with at least one meal that makes them question why they’ve been doing all the cooking this whole time.

Recovering from a very not-relaxing weekend…
I went into this weekend telling myself ‘we’re doing nothing, just slow cozy days with the dogs’… Well… that plan lasted about 30 minutes.
Friday bouldering with friends, girls day that turned into girls night, sunrise hike, afternoon crêpes… safe to say it was a full, chaotic, and honestly very me kind of weekend.

I love a good social adventure, but today? Today is for slow mornings, couch cuddles, and doing absolutely nothing with my two favorite souls.

And while I was out there pretending I wasn’t freezing… Gaia clearly had it all figured out. Miss girl spent the weekend bundled up in her new little tummy warmer from Voyager K9 Apparel, and I swear she was the only one actually warm.

Also… can we talk about this framboise color?!  I’m obsessed.
Voyager K9, if you’re listening… we’re gonna need a human version because I’d like to be as cozy as Gaia on our adventures too.

A little drop of spring magic 🌸✨ 
Summer is slowly finding its way into our days, and this one already feels like it’s going to fly by. Between chasing flowers, girls camping trips, sand dune adventures, and a big road trip all the way to Western Canada (with a 10-day mountain camping trip + reunions with our Belgium & Quebec friends 🥹)… it’s going to be full.
The kind of full you wish you could slow down just a little.
So for now, we’re soaking in every soft spring moment before it all turns into wild summer memories 🤍
