While everyone talks about AP’s Royal Oak and Patek’s Nautilus, this is the steel sports watch they forget. The Historiques 222 revives the 1977 original nicknamed “Jumbo”, built for VC’s 222nd Anniversary. Same monobloc tonneau case, fluted bezel, integrated bracelet- in 37mm steel with a blue dial and a Maltese cross at 5 o’clock and the movement is visible through a sapphire caseback.

@girardperregaux ‘s founder treated a movement like architecture, not machinery. In 1860, Constant Girard sketched three parallel bridges to hold the barrel, gear train, and tourbillon - an idea so ahead of its time it won gold at the 1889 Paris world’s fair, the same fair that built the Eiffel Tower.

This Bridge Neo-Tourbillon, a 45mm 18K pink gold watch built around a one-minute tourbillon made of 80 titanium parts weighing 0.25 grams. No dial. No bezel. Just 60 hours of pure Swiss haute horlogerie on display.

Meet the L’Épée 1839 La Regatta - a Swiss table clock shaped like a sculling boat, priced at CHF 20,300 and limited to just 99 pieces in this green edition. Every part of the in-house, manual-winding movement is left fully exposed front and back: an 8-day power reserve, a visible oscillating balance wheel that governs the beat like a coxswain, and long, blade-like hands positioned like an oar anchoring in water at 9:15. Standing 518mm tall, it’s built by the only manufacture in Switzerland dedicated entirely to high-end clocks. Power, precision, and grace - cast in metal, not worn on a wrist.

Otsuka Lotec’s Jiro Katayama hand-builds every watch in a tiny Tokyo workshop - no big house behind him, just obsession and four years of self-taught trial and error.

The No.6 turns time into an analog gauge. The No.7.5 turns it into a camera.

Roughly 200 pieces made a year. Sold only in Japan.
